The dissertation is dealing with "Shakespeare Suite" Op. No. 76 - one of the most mature works of Josef Bohuslav Foerster (1859-1951). The first part of this diploma paper is composing the picture of sreation and existence of the piece from available literature resources. Among others the concert conducting,recordings and the composition title issue are being discussed here. the second part of the paper is of analytic nature and besides the musical analysis it also brings the look into the non-musical contents of the suite. Finally, the third part is focusing on some questions arising from the suite interpretation experienced in practice. Attached to the text is a number of enclosures some of which are publishing parts of several important handwritten and printed sources.

This diploma thesis called "The work with an amateur and professional choir" combines reflective practice and theoretical knowledge of the choirmasters` profession. This work is entirely original in its` context, the author has used his own experiences working with professional and amateur choirs (e.g. The Prague Philharmonic Choir, choir of the National Theatre in Prague and The Foerster Female Chamber Choir). The thesis has the following themes: The personality of the choirmaster, The selection of singers, Vocal training, Study of the repertoire.
