Prediction of the fracture toughness temperature dependence
Václavík, Martin ; Pantělejev, Libor (referee) ; Válka, Libor (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the prediction of the fracture toughness temperature dependence through a universal curve of fracture toughness (also known as the master curve). To determine the parameters of the universal curve of fracture toughness, values acquired from the measurement results of fracture toughness and tensile tests of structural steel P91 are used. The theoretical part is based on a summary of the relevant information from the field of fracture mechanics and brittle-ductile fracture behavior of steels that are important for the understanding of fracture-strain response of materials depending on load conditions. The experimental part of the thesis contains the results from practical measurements and analyses, which were used for determining the parameters of a universal curve of fracture toughness as well as for the evaluation of fracture behavior and description of the impact of structural parameters on this behavior in case of steel P91.
Development of materials used for downhill skis production
Václavík, Martin ; Jech, David (referee) ; Pavloušková, Zina (advisor)
The submitted thesis is a retrieval type and is concerned with the technologies and materials used in the manufacture of downhill skis with a deeper focus on the last ten years. Examined are materials for the manufacture of ski cores as well as other parts of the ski, and that in terms of comparison of the construction materials and technologies. Listed are basic elements and characteristics of skis, methods of manufacture, materials for the manufacture of individual parts of the skis and, last but not least, the types of skis. The work is eked out with the analysis of several samples of skis, on which were made cuts, they were observed and structures were compared. The aim of this observation was to determine whether the materials found in the practical section corresponds to the information contained in the theoretical part.

Fatigue life estimation using strain energy density
Plánička, F. ; Vacek, V. ; Václavík, Martin
A new approach to the fatigue life estimation has been developed. It is based on the cumulation of energy spent on plastic deformations. Theoretical conclusions are supported by experimental results.
An Influence of out-of-phase combined loading
Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Václavík, Martin
The paper deals with a problem of finding a fatigue limit criterion for components subjected to combined out-of-phase loading.
Mesoscopic scale approach for fatigue
Václavík, Martin
Mesoscopis scale approach for fatigue limit criterion of components subjected to multiaxial loading is described in this paper.
The influence of shear and normal stresses ratio on fatigue crack propagation
Václavík, Martin
