Competence of the European Union to Regulate GMOs

The thesis is devoted to legal regulation of genetically modified food and feed in the European Union. It tries to answer the question: whether and how to regulate use of GMO and the future of the regulation. Considerations are supplemented by European jurisprudence. The work also provides dispute between the European Union and the World Trade Organization concerning the adjustment of the use of genetically modified organisms. Based on available information, thesis leads to inviolable of the protection of the European consumers after the effectiveness of the Transatlantic trade and investment partnership between the European Union and the United States.

The legal meaning of opt-out of application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU for the Czech Republic, Poland and the United Kingdom

The bachelor thesis deals with the reasons for each state of EU to negotiate opt-out to the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. The aim of this study is to clarify the legal meaning of the opt-out from the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU for the Czech Republic, Poland and the United Kingdom. At first the thesis defines the development of the legal implementation of human rights protection in the EU. This thesis also describes the consequences of opt-out to the rights of EU citizens, and finally presents the circumstances of the opt-out and the views of other Member States of the EU. The problem was solved by specialist articles, analysis of contracts, comparison and analysis of the author. This thesis documents unjustified Czech opt-out comparing to reasons of the United Kingdom and Poland.

Education for democratic citizenship at secondary school

The diploma thesis deals with one of the cross-cutting issues in RVP ZV. It is devoted to the education which results in active citizenship in a democracy. A theoretical part is related to the following topics: education for citizenship, curriculum reform, core competencies, education for democratic citizenship and civics textbooks. A practical part contains a unique survey about the education for democratic citizenship at secondary school and worksheet drafts, which lead to anticipated results in such education.

Ageism and the presentation of older people in television commercials

The bachelor thesis deals with old age and age discrimination ? ageism. The theoretical part is devoted to the general definition of old age, subsequently it is described the issue of ageism, in other words, describing the definition of ageism, then there are mentioned stereotypes and sources, from which the ageistic positions come from and areas, in which are significantly displayed ? the mass media. The thesis also briefly covers the state social policy approach to the issue. In practical part I paid attention to the display of seniors in media, specifically in tv commercials. During 2012 was done a research using qualitative methods of semiotic analysis, in which I tried to answer the question of how seniors are displayed in tv commercials, and whether in these presentations can be found negative stereotyping or discriminatory elements.

TQM AND ITS IMPORTACE FOR MANAGING THE COMPANIES

The subject of my diploma paper is the concept meaning and philosophy of Total Quality Management. The diploma work shall be divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part I deal with the subject of quality {--} its history, defining the term ``quality{\crqq} as well as quality management. Hereafter I give the definition of the term TQM, explain the importance of TQM for the company management and deal with models EFQM Model Excellence and Internal audit of the system of managing companies. The practical part assesses introducing of TQM in the company MANN+HUMMEL (CZ) s.r.o., which is active in the field of production of fuel, oil and air filters.The objective is to define the importance of TQM for company management and to come up with a potential system assessing the standard of introducing TQM in the company MANN+HUMMEL (CZ) s.r.o.In the end I suggest prospective ways how to improve the management of the company based on principles of TQM.
