Excitation and detection of plasmon polaritons
Brtek, Tomáš ; Kalousek, Radek (referee) ; Tomanec, Ondřej (advisor)
Behavior of surface plasmon polaritons and localized surface plasmons is strongly dependent on parametres of metalic surfaces and on parametres of structures created on the surfaces. This work deals with plasmonics mainly in the field of producing structures for plasmonics resonant systems, which might be suitable for excitation of surface plasmons by modified scanning tunneling microscopy. Final structures made for this purpose were described. Techniques for the excitation of plasmons are presented.
Plasmonic Resonant Antennas
Kvapil, Michal ; Dub, Petr (referee) ; Tomanec, Ondřej (advisor)
In the first part, using of nano- and microparticles in the plasmonics as well as the possibility of measurement resonant spectra of metallic nanostructures by photoluminescence are discussed. The main part of the work is focused on testing the possibility of using software Lumerical FDTD Solution 5.1.3 to simulate near field enhancement in the vinicity of plasmonic resonant antennas. Finally the results of simulations and analytical computation are confronted.
Fabrication of Nanostructures Using Focused Ion Beam
Bartoš, Radko ; Tomanec, Ondřej (referee) ; Kolíbal, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the ion-beam milling. Focused ion beam instrument is presented, as well as possibilities of initial setup conditions, which finally result in different nanostuctures´ shapes. In the thesis the methodology of fabrication and analysis of the nanostructures is described. Ideal ion beam setup conditions were deduced so that the nanostructures are of requested shape.
