Seniors mortality from external causes of death in the Czech Republic in 1994-2012

Seniors mortality from external causes of death in the Czech Republic in 1994-2012 Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the external causes of mortality of seniors in the Czech Republic between 1994-2012. For research purposes, seniors are divided into two age categories (60-74 and over 75), observed in the Czech administrative regions. The study concentrates on three groups, derived from the chapter of External causes of International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems: Traffic accidents, Falls and Intentional self-harm. Concerning the main analytical approach, the author has opted for the method of direct standardization. The results of the study confirm the decreasing mortality of all selected categories in Czech regions and the country itself, but proves that considerab differences between the genders remaine.
