Motivation for volunteering TREFANCOVÁ, Jitka This Bachelor thesis deals with the motives making a person decide to become a volunteer. The theoretical part includes the definition of the terms volunteer, volunteering, history of volunteering and its classification. The second chapter discusses motivation. Individual subchapters are divided as what is motivation, what motivates for volunteering, and what are the barriers. The practical part was prepared with a qualitative approach. Through in-depth semi-structured interviews, it addresses the questions of why they became volunteers and the motivation and demotivation for volunteering. The survey has shown that the most common motive for volunteering is to gain new experience and a sense of fulfilment. Detailed record
