Insurance as one of operational risk management tool

Operational risk has recently become one of the key issues in financial institutions - there have been two main reasons for development of operational risk. First, there was the explicit incorporation of operational risk in the document called Basel II; second, there have been high losses from operational loss events. The insurance as one of operational risk's tool is the main point of the diploma thesis. In theoretical part, this tool is analyzed in relation to the operational risk (the insurability of operational risk, the main characteristic of insurance, the obstacles in the usage of this tool, its relation to capital and capital adequacy, benefits and negatives of this tool). In practical part, the use of insurance as operational risk management tool in one Central European bank is analyzed in order to find some relation to operation risk parameters as risk categories, business lines, gross loss etc. The identification of risk areas in bank was done as well. The main reason of this identification is finding whether the most risk areas are managed by this tool. The analysis should confirm or refute the hypothesis that insurance is relevant factor in operational risk management - whether it has positive influence on reduction of risk exposition or whether it is only formal tool.

Rehabilitation of Children with Combined Disorders

Title of thesis Rehabilitation of Children with Combined Disorders The aim of work The aim ofmy thesis is to process the problematic ofa complete rehabilitation of children with combined disorders, to describe my own experience and knowledge and to substantiate them by an elaborated case study of a child, monitored in the course offour years, together with the description of services provided by Demosthenes- Ústí centre of complex care. Methodology Method The thesis is solved as a case study. Anamnesis data collection about the child, interviews with parents, care of the child, diagnostics and therapy were monitored and carried out in the course offour years, from the age of4 to the age of7,5 ofthe child. Results The long-lasting monitoring of the handicapped child confirmed the importance of the complexity for the rehabilitation of children with combined disorders. Only on the basis of a close cooperation of a multiprofessional team and chilď s parents, it is possible to achieve an improvement in the clinical state, to support psychomotoric development of a person and to enable the child to experience the best situation for an entrance to their further life. The services of a complex rehabilitation provided by Demosthenes - the centre of complex care, fulfill this prerequisite. Keywords Children...

The Chinese path of privatization

This thesis analyses privatization strategy in the most populous country in the world. This process attracts attention of the whole world, the reason is not only the size of privatization process, but mainly the chosen specific strategy of the transfer of ownership. Specifics arise from the type of state government in People's Republic of China and the economic system called Market Socialistic Economy; the differences are almost establish by the wide area of the country, which makes necessary decentralization - this has impact on small differences of programme. The thesis further analyses the reasons of initiation of the process, their differences from usual reasons of privatization.
