Preparation of one-dimensional chemical sensors of metal oxide
Sixtová, Kateřina ; Nováková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Kúš, Peter (referee)
In this thesis, the preparation of a chemical sensor that uses a one-dimensional structure as a sensitive part is studied. First, a scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to examine the following structures: zinc oxide nanorods, tungsten oxide nanorods, and gallium-doped zinc oxide nanorods. To verify their composition, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) was performed. Three chips were examined as well, one of which was then selected for the subsequent preparation of the nanosensor. This was achieved by lifting the structure from the substrate using a nanomanipulator integrated into the microscope with an inserted tungsten tip and placing it on a contact of the chip. To attach the nanorod to the tip, two methods were used. The first one used electrostatic attraction between the rods and the tip, while the second one was based on the deposition of platinum on the rod-tip contact using a focused ion beam (FIB) and a gas injection system (GIS).
The Cultural Memory and Its Functions: the Case of Božena Němcová
Sixtová, Kateřina ; Činátl, Kamil (advisor) ; Randák, Jan (referee)
Cultural Memory and its functions in the case of Božena Němcová The presented thesis is concerned with the topic of the construction of the portrayal of Božena Němcová and its functions in the cultural memory. Regarding the question of Božena Němcová's portrayal, this thesis is focused on the construction of gender identities in the remembering process. The influence of mediality of given representation on the process of gender identity construction is also explored here. The examination of the function of Božena Němcová's portrayal in the cultural memory is based on its intertextuality. The intertextuality is in this thesis understood as a valency plurality of Božena Němcová's portrayal in relation to other figures and themes of the cultural memory canon. The analyses in this paper is based on the concept of Cultural Memory Studies (Jan Assmann, Astrid Erll, Aleida Assmann), and Gender Studies (Judith Butler). There are different types of sources examined in this paper (textbooks, film, literature, press, social media), arranged from the present to the past. Key words: Božena Němcová, canon, cultural memory, mediality, gender identity
Foreign exchange risk management and changes of the exchange rate system of central banks
Sixtová, Kateřina ; Witzany, Jiří (advisor) ; Málek, Jiří (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on foreign exchange risk management used by households, firms and banks. The thesis deals with how the hedging against foreign exchange risk depends on the exchange rate system in particular countries. The first chapter is an introduction to foreign exchange market and its current trends. The second part consists of management of foreign exchange position by particular participants on the FX market. In the third part of the thesis are described the functions and competence of a central bank involving FX operations. The last part focuses on the exchange rate of czech koruna. The main goal is to give a recommedation to the Czech national bank regarding its future exchange rate system and to analyze of the possible impact of the development of the exchange rate of koruna on participants on the czech FX market. The outcome of the thesis consists of two possible suggestions to CNB, involving the immediate end of the exchange rate commitment or its prolonging until the adoption of the euro.
