The motivation of students to volunteer.

Subject of this bachelor thesis is finding out the motivations of high school and higher education students to participate in volunteering. What influenced students to become volunteers and how are their volunteering activities viewed by family members and friends.Theoretical part of thesis defines basic notions of volunteering who is volunteer, types of volunteering and the characteristic features of volunteering, foreshadowing historical and modern history.In next chapter of theoretical part is defined legislative framework, forms of volunteering.Conclusion of theoretical part is devoted to motivation of student.Findings about motivation of student volunteers were acquired by use of semi-structured interviews with both long-acting and short-acting volunteers.The core of interview consisted of questions about motivation factors(who or what motivated respondent to do volunteering) including potentially problematic motives of respondent or other volunteers.The results of thematic analysis of interviews are presented in separate chapter and discussed in greater detail in relation with theoretical start-points and results of similarly focused researches.Specificity of presented thesis within the file of similarly focused studies is emphasis on problematic moments and potentially problematic motives of seemingly unequivocally beneficial activity which volunteering is.
