Tennis education of children in selected Prague tennis schools

Title: Tennis education ofchildren in selected Prague tennis schools. Aim of the study: Survey ofthe actual situation in the tennis education ofchildren at the age of 5 to 9 years in the Prague region. Method: For this purpose, the questionnaires for three categories of respondents were elaborated: trainers, children and parents. The answers were summarized and evaluated according to the appropriate categories ofquestions. Results: Our study summarizes for the first time the situation in the education of the youngest groups ofchildren in the Prague region. It follows from our results that there is a considerable interest in the tennis education and sufficient number of schools and tennis courts, most of them have even an appropriate background. The majority of trainers realize that children require specific treatment, stimulating their interest. The children prefer competitions, training and theoretical preparation seem to be for them substantially less attractive. The parents are very interested in the tennis education of their children; they are able to invest a surprisingly high amount of money for this purpose.
