Intercultural education in foreign language teaching

Dissertation thesis Intercultural Education in Foreign Language Teaching deals with the specificity of intercultural education in foreign language teaching. Wide conceived problems are structured into five theoretical chapters. The first part presents the term of communication in foreign language teaching, explains the specificity of intercultural communication and intercultural communicative situation. It deals with the reasons of cultural and language shock and their possible outfall into intercultural conflict. The second part defines the objectives of intercultural communication and ways of obtaining intercultural competence as the main goal of foreign language teaching in the intercultural aspect. Next part shows the common links of the objectives and resources of global and intercultural education. The fourth part describes the methods of intercultural education in foreign language teaching in the process of obtaining intercultural competence when developing communicative language competence. The last part deals with the problems of evaluation and attestation of intercultural competence, tackles about the criteria and mentions the evaluation troubles in the fields of skills, attitudes and mainly awareness of intercultural competence.
