The use of art therapy in the care of patients with neurotic problems
ROVENSKÁ, Květa
The bachelor's thesis is aimed at the issue of neurotic complaints that patients hospitalized at the department of psychotherapy have to deal with. The objective of the thesis is to point out the possibilities of application of project-intervention art therapy methods and procedures in working with the patient, for which interpretation of artefacts created by him/her is used and to explore the possibilities of using biblical and fairy tale themes in this context. The text is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The first part deals with the definitions of some essential terms, such as art therapy, neurosis, identity, fairy tales and theories based on depth psychology. The second part is implemented through the method of a qualitative research in a personal case study. We are searching for connections between patient's complaints, his/her artistic representation and interpretation of the resulting artefacts. Attention is further paid to changes in artistic expression of the patient.
