Influence of selected preventive programs in NZDM
REMEŠOVÁ, Lenka
The diploma thesis focuses on the benefits of preventive programmes implemented in the social service of the CROSS Prevent Low-Threshold Facility for Children and Youth. This is reached via theoretical knowledge acquired from literature research and survey results. The survey studies seven informants qualitatively using three methods of investigation. Each of these methods answers one research question. Specifically, there is one case study, a semi-structured interview and a document analysis. Regarding the fact that prevention programmes in Low-Threshold Facilities for Children and Youth are in no way methodically defined, I will describe the implementation itself. The diploma thesis is supplemented by results that had been gathered while the survey was being carried out.
The role of a social worker in the protection of human rights
REMEŠOVÁ, Lenka
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out the role of a social worker defending human rights from the perspective of a team leader, and from the perspective of social workers. I am going to compare the differences between the team leader and social workers´ perspectives. I am also going to find out how the social worker's role changes within the context of the provided service. This bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part there are laws protecting human rights, an explanation of the term "role" from a social work's prospective, and also a definition of the term "social work" and basic terms connected with it. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis I have chosen qualitative research. I collected the data via a half-structured interview with 4 bosses of organisations providing social services and with 6 social workers from these facilities. The different amounts are caused by the fact that in some of the facilities I interviewed only social workers because the leaders were busy. One of the leaders work also like social worker, but in the research, he is considered like a leader. I also decided to talk to workers providing the service of social care, prevention and consulting. In the conclusion not only the difference of a social worker and team leader's and between social workers perspective of human rights will be visible, but also differences in various social services. The results have shown that the social worker is allowed to take many roles and is on the edge between helping and controlling the clients while protecting human rights. These roles were different in other social services and the emphasis at the importance of specific human rights was different as well. The conformity was proved by the social workers and team leaders from identical services. The results of my work may be useful for the public expansion of knowledge of human rights problematic in social work. It can show variety of provided social services in the Czech Republic as well. It can provide view on the role of the social worker while protecting human rights in the context of different types and forms of provided social services to professional public.
