ANALÝZA ŽENSKÝCH POSTAV V HRÁCH TENNESSEE WILLIAMSE (V DIVADELNÍCH I FILMOVÝCH VERZÍCH)
REJLKOVÁ, Dita
This diploma thesis deals with the women characters in five plays of Tennessee Williams and their visualisation in the film versions. Focusing on interpretation of women characters, particularly Southern women, the amount of secondary literature is limited. The analysis focuses on the role of woman in the society, her motives and her social interaction with other characters in the play. These roles had come to undergo a transformation in the middle of the twentieth century. The film versions of the plays offer another significant view and ways of other analysis of the characters. Personal conflicts, human desires and fears as well as social taboos are decribed and analysed. The questions of sexuality, motherhood, personal success or psychological diorders accompanies the women characters in the dramas of Tennesse Williams.
