The subject of the paper is the Czech cultural landscapes and icons perceived as bearing national/cultural significance to English-speaking nations: the tourism industry perspectives (with a special regard to the South Bohemia region). The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter presents certain ties between culture and history of the Czech lands and the English-speaking countries and briefly lists those individuals in history and/or culture who could be considered as such ties, followed by reflections on the importance of tourism for the national economy and the economy of the South Bohemia region. It includes also the results of research performed in guidebooks in relation to the cultural landscapes and icons perceived as bearing national/cultural significance to English-speaking nations. The next chapter describes some sub-regions of South Bohemia that feature cultural or historical ties between the Czech lands and the English-speaking countries. The last chapter recommends certain places as an offer for specific groups of visitors, as well as an example of possible use in a web presentation/tourism information database
