Grid Node Operation after Large Nuclear Unit Connection to the Grid
Prokop, Ondřej ; Varmuža, Jan (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
The thesis deals with the analysis of the grid node operation after the connection the nuclear unit. The aim of the master´s thesis is to describe the influence of network´s faults to a nuclear unit. Thesis is dealing with three fundamental problems. An influence of short circuits and power imbalance on the synchronous generator of nuclear power plant and its operation of the island network. The thesis is focused especially on the nuclear unit. However, in the case of any failure in the network, it´s necessary to check other units and their protections in the test system because unit failure could cause the disintegration of the power network. For the purposes of the simulation a test system of the power network has been developed. The test system was optimized in the LUG software, which is used to calculate the power network. Transient simulations are performed in the MODES software. Single faults are configured with scenarios. Results are generated into output files. Analysis of influence network´s faults on the synchronous generator of nuclear power plants. The ability of the synchronous generator to restore the primary steady state or hold the new steady state during changes in operating parameters of the network is one of the important parts of the safe and reliable operation of the power network. During the short circuit the damped transient actions occur. With the extension of the short circuit duration, the amplitude of the transient action increases. The risk of the stability loss of a synchronous generator increases. Therefore, the critical clearing time of a short circuit is being defined, which is the time when there is not any loss of stability. Critical clearing time of research generator is sufficient to turn off the short circuit with the help of its protection (the worst case is 0,8 s). For example, by comparison with the hydroelectric power plant, the critical clearing time is much longer. Models of other power plants have been designed with high reliability so in the case of these faults, it doesn’t cause the disintegration of the power network. Creation of island grid is characterized by strong current surges. Units must be resistant to these surges. In the island grid fast changes of the electrical parameters often occurs. Therefore, units must respond to these changes as quickly as possible and in the broadest limits. For this purpose an island operation regulator is being used. In the case of surplus island grid in steam power plants a dump condenser can be used. This is an important ability of steam power plants because the units are able to react quickly to changes of electrical parameters in island grid. The main result of this thesis is the behavior of the nuclear power plant during various faults in the power network. Researched generator of the nuclear power plant is highly stable against faults in the power network based on the findings. The results allow to continue in this topic with real network and real unit of nuclear power plant.
Nuclear Power Plant Dukovany Tasks within an Electricity Grid of the Czech Republic
Prokop, Ondřej ; Řež,, Martina Malá, Centrum výzkumu (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
The aim of the Bachelor’s thesis is to describe the role of The Nuclear Power Plant Dukovany (Dukovany NPP) in the Czech electricity grid. Increasing of the production of electricity from renewable energy sources in the electricity grid causes more frequently compliance of N-1 criterion and it decrease the reliability of the electricity grid. The risk of Blackout increases, which would cause large economic losses and danger to the life of human beings. Therefore, reliable, good controllable and safety sources of electricity are very important. The first part of the thesis describes the role of Dukovany NPP in the process of regulation of basic electrical parameters during the normal operation of electricity grid. The second part of the thesis deals with states and the function of Dukovany NPP after full or partial disintegration of the electricity grid. Final part analyzes the importance of Dukovany NPP in Czech electricity grid and future development Dukovany NPP with possibility of the construction of new nuclear units after the end of the operation in 2035. The Dukovany NPP is an important regulator of the reactive power. There isn’t other power plant in the southeastern part of the Czech Republic, which could significantly control reactive power. The power from Dukovany NPP, which is provided on ancillary services controlling the real power and frequency has been increasing in recent years. This is due to the increasing production of renewable sources. Units switch to island operation after partial disintegration of electricity grid. If frequency exceeds the limit, the units will switch to it is own consumption. In this stage of operation at own consumption can Dukovany NPP operated without the time limit. Dukovany NPP may participate in restoring the electricity grid, based on dispatch control instruct. If switching to own consumption is not successful and back up sources and emergency’s dieselgenerator are unavailable, the power supply has to be restored as soon as possible. There are six independent solutions to restore the power supply. Next option of restore power supply will be the AAC network after the completion of construction in 2014. The AAC network will be resistant to the extreme weather and will be place it in the area of the power station, thereby Dukovany NPP will be more independent on external network.

Dopady vstupu ČR do Evropské unie na faktory ovlivňující  bankovní sektor
Prokop, Ondřej
Prokop, O., Impacts of the Czech Republic's join to the European Union on factors affecting the banking sector. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. Diploma thesis is focused on Impacts of the Czech Republic's join to the European Union on factors affecting the banking sector. The attention is focused on factors affecting provided services to clients of the banking sector. The time series are analysed by testing structural breaks. The growth rates of this time series and changes are also analysed. For example, in this thesis are analysed this time se-ries: profits, number of employees, distribution networks, amount of loans or amount of deposits. The issue of deposits and loans is further analysed in detail, for example on a time, sector or specific basis.
Sestavení letokruhových standardních chronologií z recentních dubů pro Českou a Slovenskou republiku a jejich porovnání se středoevropskými chronologiemi
Prokop, Ondřej
The main objectives of the thesis submitted were to create the missing oak tree-ring chronology for the area of Slovakia, update the existing Czech oak tree-ring chronology, assess their paleoclimatic potential, and find the best way to remove the age trend from tree-ring series. At the same time, the number of sapwood tree rings over time was analysed. As the historical and archaeological material can be represented in tree-ring chronologies by curves from different oak species with different age and from different areas, two comparative studies have been carried out to assess their usefulness for the climate reconstruction. Tree-ring chronologies of four selected oak species (Quercus robur L., Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl., Quercus polycarpa Schur., Quercus dalechampii Ten.) from the same region showed a very similar response to climatic parameters; the differences were caused by local site conditions rather than oak species. Further, the recent part of the Czech oak chronology was divided into five couples of sub-chronologies using various categories (altitude, age of trees, tree species, soil moisture, and geographic location). A great similarity of all the sub-chronologies was confirmed by the most significant growth response of oak to the precipitation sum in the period May to July. The thousands-year-long Czech oak chronology, which has been gradually improved in recent years, still showed insufficient coverage of the entire territory of the oak natural distribution range and insufficient replication in the 19th century. A total of 342 newly collected samples from western Bohemia and samples from selected historical structures, mostly belfries, were used to cover the entire natural distribution range in the Czech Republic and to improve the connection of the recent and the historical parts of the chronology. The study was supplemented by the analysis of the number of sapwood tree rings, which confirmed the declining number of sapwood rings in the direction from the west to the east, and showed that the number of sapwood rings does not change over time (5-24). A completely new tree-ring oak chronology for the territory of the Slovak Republic was made up of 276 historical and 1028 recent samples. The chronology ranges from 967 to 2013 and shows strong resemblance with the tree-ring chronologies from the Czech Republic, Austria and Ukraine. As the Czech chronology, it manifests the most significant response to precipitation in the May to July period with a huge drop in correlations around 1980. The analysis of negative pointer years in the chronology revealed 26 periods; the most extreme year was 1947, which stood out in all of the investigated sites. Comparing the resulting chronologies, no significant differences were found among the various ways of age trend removal from tree-ring series in the periods with sufficient replication. This work extends the knowledge about the behaviour of the oak in Central Europe at the level of tree rings. The newly formed tree-ring oak chronology for the area of Slovakia fills the gap in the dense network of European chronologies and together with the update of the Czech oak chronology increases the potential for hydroclimatic reconstructions and the reliability of the dating of historical oak structures and archaeological finds.
