Brundibar in "Sweet Theresienstadt" - Staging of Brundibar in ghetto Terezin.

The thesis deals with the practising theatre and other cultural activities in Theresienstadt Ghetto during the World War II. It focuses mainly on the staging of children's opera Brundibar. In the first part it deals with the cultural context in Theresienstadt in general and introduces the readers to Kurt Gerron and his propaganda movie "The Führer gives the City to the Jews". The second part concentrates then on the opera Brundibar, which it analyses, contextualizes and tries to bring closer the meaning of Brundibar for the audience of Theresienstadt.
