Tactical Deception in the Context of Evolutionary Psychology
Plos, Petr-Jan ; Polák, Jakub (advisor) ; Špinka, Marek (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with tactical deception in the context of evolutionary psychology. Its aim is to summarize the findings related to this topic into a coherent overview. In the first chapter of the thesis the concept of deceptive behaviour is defined and linked to the concept of evolutionary psychology, then deceptive behaviour is divided into several levels. In the following chapters, tactical deception is defined, and its different types are introduced. Furthermore, the cognitive functions associated with tactical deception are discussed. The remainder of the theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the distribution of tactical deception in the animal kingdom and several hypotheses for the possible origin of tactical deception are presented. The empirical part of this thesis presents a research design to test the hypothesis that the degree of tactical deception behaviour in different primate species depends on the steepness of their hierarchical organization. The research design adopts methods used by other researchers, namely, the Elo-rating method of measuring hierarchical ordering and the experimental method of informed gathering used to observe tactical deception behaviour. Key words: tactical deception; evolutionary psychology; primates; deception; evolution
A methodology for the comprehensive identification and protection of the valuable attributes of historic cities and public spaces and the preservation of their authenticity
Jehlík, J. ; Drdácký, Tomáš ; Plos, J. ; Zdráhalová, J. ; Rýpar, V.
The purpose of this work is to create a methodology for identifying complementary attributes critical to the sustainability and authenticity of historic towns and for designing innovative tools for their protection in land-use planning and care-taking processes at heritage sites. In addition, this methodology can be further used to present the values of historical urbanism. It is based on a relatively comprehensive urban assessment and innovative methods using computer-aided imaging techniques conforming to international standards of urban management with public participation. The specific objective is to formulate and define general standard documentation and tools for assessing urban development in the course of planning and building-development within the framework of heritage-site care and preservation, or more precisely, to assess the degree of heritage value of specified urban/urbanistic phenomena and their attributes. In other words: the specification of urban phenomena and their attributes with heritage potential.
Jinak řečeno, jde o specifikaci urbánních jevů a atributů s památkovým potenciálem.

Ťopková, Lenka ; Perlín, Radim (advisor) ; Plos, Jiří (referee)
Causes and consequences of alterations of municipal plans in Prague suburb Abstract The diploma thesis is concerned with town and country planning after the "Velvet revolution" in 1989. The surroundings of the capital are places where suburbanization takes place at present. Instruments, which can control the process of suburbanization, are very limited. Moreover there is a problem, that capital and its surroundings lay each in different administrative region. The municipal plan is currently key instrument by which can spatial development be influenced. Municipalities are therefore under pressure of private companies calling for extension of a built-up area. The aim of this thesis is to analyse causes and consequences of alterations of the municipal plans, which were procured in municipalities in the suburban territory of Prague, and to discover who are the main participants of these alterations. Keywords: town and country planning, alterations of municipal plans, suburbanization
