Author: Klára Mydlilová Supervisor: Mgr. Michaela Stupková Title: The case study of physiotherapeutical treatment of the patient with a diagnosis of spastic paraparesis caused by spondylodiscitis Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to elaborate theroretical knowledge about spastic paraparesis based on spondylodiscitis. The theoretical knowledge and findings were used as a base for creating proper physiotherapeutical treatment for patient with diagnose mentioned above. Methods: The thesis is divided into two parts; the theoretical part is aimed to discuss the general definition of spondylodiscitis, its clinical aspects and diagnostic and therapeutical options. The practical part consists of kinesiological analysis, detailed description of all therapeutic units, out kinesiological analysis and the conclusion. This part demonstrates all practical findings gained at Nemocnice Vršovice at rehabilitation department in the period of 16.1.-10.2. 2023. Results: The predetermined objectives have been achieved. Thanks to the improvement that the patient showed, it can be said that the chosen physiotherapy methods had a positive effect on the patient's condition. Conclusion: Every aim that was set previously was completed and regarding to these results the positive effect of chosen therapeutical...

Silná, Karolína ; Martínek, Milan (advisor) ; Piruchtová, Karolína (referee)
Title: A case report of physiotherapeutic care for a patient diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Objective: The aim of this bachelor's thesis in the theoretical part is to provide information on the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, especially information on etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment. The aim of the practical part is to process a case report of a patient suffering from this diagnosis and evaluate the effect of the performed physiotherapeutic intervention. Method: The general part includes theoretical information about Parkinson's disease in terms of pathophysiology, etiopathogenesis, clinical picture and other areas necessary for a comprehensive understanding of the diagnosis. There is also information on the treatment options for Parkinson's disease, including rehabilitation. The special part contains the case report of a patient diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, which arose within the bachelor's internships at Vršovická Zdravotní. Results: The goals of the theoretical and practical part were met. Following the evaluation of the effect of therapy, it can be concluded that the physiotherapeutic intervention described in the special section had a partial positive effect on the patient's condition. Keywords: Parkinson's disease, neurodegenerative disease, physiotherapy, case report
Early rehabilitation after total hip replacement - the difference in patients operated from anterior and anterolateral approach.
Piruchtová, Karolína ; Teyssler, Petr (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
Total hip replacement is one of the most common surgeries in orthopedics. Complete hip replacement can be addressed with several different types of surgical approaches. In this work we deal mainly with the anterior and anterolateral approach. The theoretical part of this work summarizes the basic knowledge about the anatomy, kinesiology of the hip joint and the prearthrotic causes leading to complete hip replacement. Furthermore, the types of surgical approaches, types of total endoprostheses are mentioned and the knowledge about soft tissue healing and early postoperative rehabilitation is summarized. The aim of this work is to determine whether rehabilitation will be faster in the first days after surgery in patients operated by the anterior approach, depending on the gentle approach and respect for anatomical structures, compared to the anterolateral approach. We present a group of 24 patients, 12 of whom underwent anterior approach and 12 anterolateral approach. In the practical part we evaluate and compare early postoperative rehabilitation in both approaches. The parameters we evaluate are the muscular strength of abduction, flexion and extension in the hip joint. Furthermore, the passive and active range of motion in the hip joint during abduction, flexion and extension. We also evaluate...
Calf muscle abreviation. The influence of foot and ankle disorders and the possibility of treatment with statical stretching.
Piruchtová, Karolína ; Teyssler, Petr (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
The calf muscle (m. gastrocnemius) is a postural muscle with a tendency to shorten what is often present in patients with foot pain. The theoretical part summarizes the basic knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics of calf muscle and manifestations of its shortening in the periphery. There are also described the possibilities of conservative solution by static stretching and possible operative solution. The aim of this work is to find out whether the pain can be reduced or eliminated by a conservative method by static stretching in order to avoid the need for an operative solution to this problem. We present a set of 18 patients sent for rehabilitation with a focus on calf stretching. In a practical part we show 3 cases for which an individual exercise plan was introduced focusing on calf stretching for 6 months. Within 6 months, these 3 patients were goniometrically examined three times by a 3-month interval to measure the ankle range of motion (ROM). The results showed that 2 patients objectively increased ROM and subjectively got rid of pain. In 1 patient, despite the objective increase in ROM, the subjective sensation of pain still persisted. Thus, it can be shown that by static stretching we can increase the ROM and consequently affect the pain.
