PETRÁKOVÁ, Anna
This thesis is concerned with the distinction between the labelling of participants in the Czech and French criminal proceedings, therefore the main sources are the Czech and French penal codes. This thesis commences with a chapter which is primarily focused on the technical style, the legal language and its translation but which also describes the pro-cedures of translation. The second chapter focuses on how the theory interacts with prac-tice. After having introduced the criminal proceedings and their respective stages, the focus turns on introducing and subsequently analysing the terms which label the participants of the proceedings. Each label is supplemented with a description of the specific function of the given participant both in Czech and French law with a further inclusion of possibilities of translation of the individual labels. The third chapter is made up of a Czech-French glossary.
