Charakteristika a vývoj vztahů mezi vládou a neziskovým sektorem v otázce poskytování právní pomoci iregulérním imigrantům v Řecku
Palisa, Radek
This thesis examines the relationship between the Greek government and the Greek non-profit sector in the issue of providing legal assistance to asylum seekers. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part starts by explaining the terminology associated with different types of migrants. It discusses the Government's obligation towards asylum seekers as defined in International, European, and national legislation. It discuss the evolution of immigration into Greece and Greece's response it by forming Migration and Asylum Policy. The practical part starts by an analysis of the current asylum situation in Greece. It proceeds to examine the relationship between the Greek government and the Greek non-profit sector in the issue of providing legal assistance through the Young Model of government-nonprofit relations. First, it discusses that the Greek NGOs specialising in the provision of legal aid to asylum seekers fill the void which has been left by the Government. Secondly, the thesis proposes that the Government is also in a complementary relationship with the NGOs as it finances their activities through the European Refugee Fund. Thirdly, it identifies the Greek government and the Greek NGOs as being adversaries in the field of policy formation and implementation.
