Comparison of Network Anomaly Detection Methods

This thesis focuses on methods for detection of network traffic anomalies. The preamble contains a short overview of all categories along with their corresponding examples. The next part details the three methods chosen for comparison: EWMA, Holt-Winters and the wavelet-based method. Furthermore are described generated input data attacks that were, along with the already discovered ones, used for rating of the compared methods detection abilities. Finally, optimal parameters are described along with other discovered flaws including suggestions for improvement.

Detection of Slow Network Attacks

This master's thesis is aimed how can be network traffic monitored using IP flows. The description of NEMEA framework that can be used to build complex intrusion detection system. Following chapters describes port scanning methods and SSH protocol which can be used for remote login to the system, which can be exploited by an attacker. These two areas are intended to be detected in a slow attack manner, when attacker using low attack speed, which he can evade multiple detection methods. Proposed method for detection such attacks is using information from the last few connections. Finally, proposed detection method results are further described.

Taxation of income of professional athletes

The main objective of the Thesis is to specify the crucial aspects of professional football players income taxation in the Czech Republic. These incomes are taxed according to the section 7 Income Tax Law. The Thesis is also aimed at taxation of non-resident football players. The international taxation is explained on the Model Tax Convention on Income and on Capital and on the Czech Income Tax Law. In the second part of this Thesis the fictious tax duty of selected football palyers is layed down. key words: professional football player, income tax, income tax
