Roman catholic parish of Radomysl, her monuments and the situation at the present time

ABSTRACT This dissertation of this document is the Roman Catholic parish of Radomysl in particular it is a comprehensive summary of information which has not yet been collected in any literature. Based on the publications lested and to a great extent on research work, a body of material has been created which portrays the Roman Catholic parish of Radomysl in all its complexity. The introductory chapters discuss the origins of the parish of Radomysl and give a brief description of the communities which fall within its boundaries. The mention too the activites of the House of Bavor and of The Order of the Knights of Malta, as they affected the parish. They contain also a description of the buildings of the parish and a survey of the pastors who administered it. A further part of this dissertation contains a description of the parish, in particular the parish church of St. Martin, the pilgrimage church of St. John Baptist, the Holy Sepulchre and the Way of the Cross, all in Radomysl, and the church of St. Ludmila in Zadní Zborovice. A more detailed description is given of the origins, the history and the architecture of these buildings, together with the way they are used. The tally pf sacral monuments is completed by a description of the smaller chaples and wayside shrines in the parish. There follows a chapter devoted to some of the notable personalities whose activites have had, and still have, an important influence on this parish. These are Father Josef lukas, Father Petr Koutsky, the pastoral asistant Terezie Hasanova and the former chairman of the council of Zadni Zborovice, Augustin Soukup. After this the publication goes on to consider the life of the parish community, up to the situation at the present time.
