Empathy of Nurses

The usual definition of empathy that can be found in books is that is a charakter, condition and process. It is considered the basic precondition of effective nursing practice and a means for reaching goals of treatment. Communication is unrepeatable in nursing in particular. The qualitative method of data collection - a semi-directed interview - was chosen for the research investigation. The interviews were conducted with the research set of twelve nurses and twelve patients. Two goals of the diploma thesis were defined; the first one was to map out what nurses and patients think about manifestation of empathy in nursing. The other goal was to compare the opinions of nurses and patients and to describe the differences ascertained.
Psychological distress of the nursing staff at the Residential Care Home {--} Nursing Home Dobrá Voda at České Budějovice.

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of psychological distress of the nursing staff at the Residential Care Home {--} Nursing Home Dobrá Voda at České Budějovice. A nursing home is a facility providing its clients who are partially self-sufficient due to organic brain damage or dementia with social and residential services. A nursing team (consisting of medical staff and staff providing direct care) provides its clients with 24-hour-a-day nursing care. There are a number of specifications associated with the nursing care due to the mental health of clients. Two goals were defined in the bachelor thesis {--} to depict factors causing distress of the nursing staff at the Nursing Home Dobrá Voda at České Budějovice when providing the clients suffering from dementia with nursing care and to find out how the nursing staff at the Nursing Home Dobrá Voda at České Budějovice perceives the psychological distress. A qualitative method of data collection {--} a semi-conducted interview {--} was used as the main technique in the research part. A quantitative method of data collection using a scale questionnaire {--} ``Inventář projevů syndromu vyhoření`` by T. and J. Tošnerovi {--} was used only as a supplementary technique. The research set consisted of 12 members of the nursing team at the Nursing Home Dobrá Voda at České Budějovice. The goals of the thesis were met.
Health and social problems of Parkinson´s disease

The Parkinson´s disease is a chronic disease whose syptomps affect human life to a consederable extent. If follows the results of the research that seniors have a knowledge in the basic fields, i.e. they know what physical system is affected by the Parkinson´s disease has a slow, sneak course. they are also aware of the most frequent method of therapy (pharmacological) and know that the Parkinson´s disease often stimulates tendčency to depresssions. However, few of the questioned seniors were aware of the national and local existence of the Parkinson assotiation and the age group in which the Parkinson´s disease occurs most frequently.
