Analysis of trypsin inhibitor-like cysteine-rich domain-containing peptides (TIL-domain inhibitors) from the tick Ixodes ricinus
PECHOVÁ, Hana
The master thesis deals with the analysis of trypsin inhibitor-like cysteine-rich domain-containing peptides (TIL-domain inhibitors) extracted from salivary glands of a tick Ixodes ricinus. It comprises the initial bioinformatical analysis of TIL-domain containing peptide family from I. ricinus, molecular cloning of the representative protein into expression vector, followed by production of recombinant TIL-domain inhibitor in bacteria. A representative TIL-domain gene is proved for their structure, biochemical properties as well as immunomodulatory and anticoagulation features.
Characterisctics of the mitochondrial genome of the roundworm Oscheius myriophila (Rhabditidae)
PECHOVÁ, Hana
Genus Oscheius represents specific group of nematodes which are facultatively entomopathogenic, i.e. they occur in transient stage between necromenic and parasitic life style. Therefore, it represents an interesting model for evolutionary studies; however, the taxonomy of the genus is still not clear. Analysis of the full mitogenome of Oscheius myriophila may help to enhance our knowledge on the selected nematode species with respect to the taxonomy, phylogeny as well as its biology in general.
Exporting financing of Czech companies in the current economic situation of 2012
Pěchová, Hana ; Mejstřík, Michal (advisor) ; Luňáčková, Petra (referee)
The master thesis shows how important is the promotion of export for the economy of the Czech Republic in the present time of economic uncertainty and in front of such threats it now stands. I show in individual chapters of this study, that it is necessary to allow for availability of export credits for Czech exporters, because these may also help to achieve the objectives of the new Czech export strategy. Then I present methods of state aid, two Czech export agencies. And by using gravity model and subsequent analysis I show, that it is socially advantageous to support these agencie, since the positive impact of this support can also be expected as an increase in employment, GDP growth and increased income to the state budget through taxes. Furthermore, I introduce the leader to the threat posed to export financing in Europe by the regulatory requirements of the newly introduced Basel III banking regulation - not just capital requirements, but also the newly introduced leverage ratio. Econometric model empirically confirms the hypothesis, that Basel III will have a negative impact on the availability and price of export credits. On the contrary, according to the conclusions of this model I cannot assume that this regulation significantly influences the Czech export credit institutions.
Zbrojení v meziválečném Československu z hlediska hospodářské politiky
Pěchová, Hana ; Strecker, Ondřej (advisor) ; Seifert, Jan (referee)
The aim is to show how important was a phenomenon of arms during a very short period of time from an economic point of view. The individual chapters are discussed the effects of the most important events of the First Republic to develop defense industry and the connection between the Ministry of National Defense and the Czechoslovak arms companies. Particular attention is paid to the issue of arms export and I try to determine a degree of mutual interaction of arms export and the national economy. And especially after it began the full show of the new threat of global conflict and raised the question of whether to prefer a bigger reserve of weapons, ammunition and military equipment in view of losses of foreigner exchange , or vice versa.
Analysis of Czech Translations of Early English Drama Titles (until 1850)
PECHOVÁ, Hana
This thesis deals with Czech translations of English drama titles until 1850, as they are collected in the KAPRADÍ database. It consists mostly of translations of Shakespeare's dramas, but other titles range from medieval moralities and mystery plays to romantic drama. The titles are analysed both from the points of chronology and of genre. The thesis is trying to prove the hypothesis that a translation of a literary title reflects both the epoch of its translation and the genre in which it is written. Not only literary methodology classificating titles is used but also the theory of proper names (onomastics) is applied, which means that a literary title is considered a proper name in its own right.
Allegory in Bunyan´s Pilgrim´s Progress: Spiritual and Psychological Journey to the Self
PECHOVÁ, Hana
This thesis deals with the allegorical features of the novel The Pilgrim?s Progress (1678) by John Bunyan. Based on the comparison with the medieval form of allegory, the morality play, and with regard to the areas of narrative techniques, relationship between verse and prose, and the role of characters in both works, it tries to examine the transition from pure allegory to the modern novel. The connection with the edifying principle typical of Puritan literature is discussed and the aspects of psychological introspection and resulting modernity of the work are stated.

Manioulation of spatial behaviour of the slug \kur{Deroceras reticulatum} by the parasitic nematode \kur{Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita}
PECHOVÁ, Hana
Slug pathogenic nematodes are under a serious threat of predators and scavenging invertebrates and can easily be destroyed together with consumption of the host. Invertebrate cadavers are rapidly and preferentially removed by predators and scavengers within minutes or hours, The nematodes need several days to finish their life-cycle in the cadaver. By comparing the after-death positions of slugs killed by 6 different methods, it is evident that P. hermaphrodita can manipulate the spatial behaviour of its slug host to prevent the host from being predated or scavenged, or from desiccation conditions until the nematodes complete their development.
