Diversity of moths (Lepidoptera) on early successional series of selected spoil heaps.

Locations strongly disturbed by mining of mineral resources often host important protected species of organisms. Extreme habitats resulting from surface mining of brown coal increase territorial heterogeneity of today's landscape and provide ecological niche for specialists and succession groups of plants and animals, which could be otherwise rarely found in an open countryside. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the current legislation on reclamation and ecology on mine disposal sites. The practical part analyses diversity of moths on brown coal mining sites in northern Bohemia. The total of 3,013 individuals was captured during the period from April to September 2015 at six localities on the territory of the Bílina Mines. At four of the localities varied in their age, uncontrolled succession takes place. The other two have gone through forestry reclamation. My work aims to highlight the significant role played by the presence of disturbed territories within the uniformly reclaimed post-mining landscape.
