From television to computer? Spending leisure time - research among pupils of elementary school.
NÁVARA, Michal
The thesis focuses on how the pupils at the age of 13{--}16 years spend their leisure time, whereas a special attention is given to the question of how much time they spend with single types of media. The aim of the thesis is, first to present theoretical bases of leisure time sphere and media sphere, second to introduce the results of the research to the readers. The theoretical part is partly based on different conceptions of leisure time, and at the same time perceives current access to the media and useage of the media by pupils at the primary school. The empirical part is based on quantitative research, using the method of standardised questionnaires, which were filled in by the pupils from seventh to ninth class. This part is based above all on the comparison with other research works. Those research works were focused on the same problems. The results of the thesis take the development of leisure time activities into account, compare these activities as with the pupils at the same age, as with older pupils, eventually the results are compared with the sample of the whole population. The thesis also takes certain geographic and demographic facts into consideration, which supports thorough research of these problems.
