Assessment of odour annoyance in Štětí

This thesis solves the odour issue in the ambient air. Due to the rising of a standard of living, people are no longer tolerant to excessive odours in the environment. Subject of the research is a perception of odour by inhabitants of the town Štětí. Štětí belongs to areas facing odour annoyance of its inhabitants, where the main source is a paper mill Mondi Štětí a.s. The goal of this thesis is to find out if the inhabitants of the town percieve the odour annoyance coming from the paper mill as problematic and explore their opinion of the odour situation in the area with respect to a near past, wish to the future and frequency of annoyance. Next goal is to find out if there exist a relation between immission concentrations of odours typical for a paper mill industry (sulfane, TRS) and subjective assessment of odour intensity by enquired inhabitants, and also what effect have different factors affecting odour perception (age, sex, pregnancy, smoking, personal and family relationship to the paper mill and adaptation to odours) on this relation. Method chosen to get the answers is a repetitive questioning of the inhabitants. In years 2010-2011 there were 16 events on which were made personal interviews with the inhabitants of Štětí near the immission measuring stations in Štětí. Totally 538 people...
Japanese Foreign Policy in the 21. century

Foreign Policy plays an important role in setting of national interests and influences the position of the country in international relations. For a global power in the 21.century, as Japan, foreign policy setting means an important tool or building its position on international political scene. There are many factors incluencing directly creating of the foreing policy, this paper concentrates on teritorrial disputes with neighbor states of Japan - China, Russia, South Korea,that cause tensions and threaten the stability in the entire asia-pacific region. In case of china-japanese relations it is about dispute over Senkaku/ Diaoyu islands, with Russia is involved in a dispute over the Northern territories/ Southern Kurily and relations with South Korea are influenced by the conflict over Takeshima/ Tokdo. Causes of these disputes have roots in history and are connected closely to the mutual experience of the countries, speficic cultural values of Japan and also to the US influence on the japanese development during the previous century. Based on these factors the development of teritorrial disputes in relations to the foreign policy in the 21. century is described.

The influence of the internal political situation and intrastate conflicts on the stability of India

The main goal of this thesis is to analyze the influence of the current internal political situation of the Indian State and its intrastate conflicts on the stability of India. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first chapter is devoted to the identification and brief description of the factors affecting the stability of the state, and then highlights the political situation and internal conflicts, as the key determinants for this thesis. The second part analyzes the political situation and its problems, including impacts on the stability of the state. The third chapter examines intrastate conflicts, focused on Muslim-Hindu conflicts, that undermine the integrity of India.
