Increased suction speed of the fire pump using CAE
Hluší, Martin ; Maxa, Jiří (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This thesis adresses the issue of designing a new system for flooding the centrifugal pump equipped in the PS-12 type motorized fire pump. Initially the fire attack as a sport and the motorized fire pump PS-12 with the gas vakuum pump are described. Then the problem, this thesis adresses, is covered. The next chapters describe the Computer-aided engineering method and fluid flow with regards to flow through nozzles. Practical part of this thesis starts with simulations of the current gas vakuum pump equiped on the PS-12 pump. The design process of the new flooding system is described next and simulations as well as testing of the constructed prototype are used to validate its function.
Thermal simulation for space applications
Kostelník, Tomáš ; Maxa, Jiří (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This master´s thesis is focused on the problem of modelling heat transfer in Earth orbit. In the theoretical part, the main types of standard orbits are described, including terminology related to this issue. Furthermore, the subsystems of space probes are described with a focus on a specific description of their functions. The thesis also includes a discussion of the issues related to thermal management of space satellites, with a focus on multilayer insulation and thermal surface finishes. The work also includes a description of the various mechanisms of heat transfer in space, with a deeper focus on thermal radiation heat transfer, which is key in the context of this thesis. The experimental part is focused on the design of a calculator focused on the computation of radiation boundary conditions for different orbits of a space vehicle and their verification using a CFD solver on a model example of a cubesat.
Analyses of the Compressed Air Energy Storage proces in Ansys Fluent system
Hájková, Věra ; Šabacká, Pavla (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses different types of energy storage in the introduction. It describes the different technologies, their functions, advantages and disadvantages. It compares them on the basis of the ESOI ratio, which is the ratio of energy stored on invested. The main type of energy storage covered in the term paper is compressed air energy storage. The thesis describes the principle of a method of energy storage as well the companies and projects that are working on or using this technology. Furthermore, the issue of heat energy loss during air compression is outlined, which leads to a significant reduction in efficiency. The last part of the thesis is a practical part, which uses a model example to show the temperature and pressure evolution during the pumping of air into the storage tank.
The influence of the power vacuum in the gas flow scintillation detector with regard to functionality
Čermák, Peter ; Polsterová, Helena (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
The work is devoted to problems of electron microscopy, focusing on the scintillation detector, which is located in chamber separating the field from different pressures. Using of the CAD and CAE was created 3D model of the detector, which took place on calculations focused to influence of the performance of different types of air pumps at gas flow between the chambers. The results of individual variants are compared in graphic form and evaluated.
Model of bipedal walking robot
Čermák, Jan ; Maxa, Jiří (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is produce a two-legged walking robot. This robot will be able to walking independently forward, without any assistance of human, after predefined trajectory. Whole thesis includes design of the robot construction, model the robot, following theory related to printing the robot on 3D printer and programming of robot walking.
Mathematical-physical analysis of dynamic pressure for the experimental differentially pumped chamber
Lepltová, Kristýna ; Bílek, Michal (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is based on the series of scholarly article dedicated to the issue of pumping in the differential scanning chamber of an environmental scanning microscope. The thesis is based on Danilatos’s study where the pumping of the differential pumped chamber is solved by means of the Monte Carlo statistical method. The thesis analyzes gas flow in the experimental chamber using the Pipot tube. The analyses will be used for the design of the experimental chamber which will serve for the experimental evaluation of the flow results in the chamber using the continuum mechanics.
The effect of the shape of the intake ports for pumping in a Scintillation detector.
Flídr, Karel ; Vyroubal, Petr (referee) ; Maxa, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis is concerned with the design of the shape of suction canals used for pumping in the scintillation detector. The goal is to perform analysis of the model of the detector according to the current conception and then perform an optimalisation of the suction canals as per demands to their function. In the beginning of the thesis the history of the microscope and electron microscopy is described. The next chapter is focused on a more detailed description of ESEM. The following charter is dedicated to describing the scintillation detector. The thesis recounts the kinds of liquid flow. In conclusion the programs SolidWorks and Ansys Fleunt are described. Next part of this thesis describes in detail parameters‘ settings of simulation calculation. Following chapter introduces designed changes of suction channels shape and its results are shown and described.
Simulation of temperature and airflow in a field distributor with frequency converter
Melechovský, Ondřej ; Maxa, Jiří (referee) ; Ondříček, Adam (advisor)
Presented work deals with heat transfer and its methods. At the beginning thesis describes the theory and the ways of heat transfer with connected quantities and equations. Then it explains the stack effect and impact of temperature on electro technical device. In work is also described ABB driver ACS line and calculation of heat transfer according to IEC 60890 standard. In the practical part there is the calculation of heat transfer in Flow Simulation simulating CFD program solved and finite element method is mentioned. Important part of work is devoted to setting and optimization of simulation. In conclusion are made some changes of construction of driver, dependence on heat transfer is inspected.
Design of a 3D scanner for educational purposes
Paprsek, Adam ; Maxa, Jiří (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
The aim of the submitted semestral project is research of 3D scanning object methods. The 3D scans utilization and types of these scans have been mentioned in the first chapter. The scanners are grouped into two basic methods – contact and contactless. The second chapter is dedicated to 3D model measurement principles, which are described in detail in four sub-chapters. In the following chapter is described design with complete realization 3D scanner with the implementation of the application for its controlling. Last part of the thesis concerns the 3D model editing and method evaluating.
