Java applications - theory and practice

The aim of this thesis is to characterize the foundational aspects of the Java programming language and the development of applications with it. As an exemplary application on which to demonstrate the findings, we will use Nand2Tetris playground, a simple education application, some of which's aspects will be analyzed within the thesis. The aim of the Nand2Tetris Playground project will be to propose and implement a graphical user interface for the first part of the Nand2Tetris computer architecture course, created by Noam Nisan, Ph.D. and Simon Schocken, Ph.D. In this part of the course, the student is tasked with assemblig all the basic boolean logic gates and several other basic parts using only NAND gates. Software for this part already exists, but can be user unfriendly, especially for a student not well versed in computer science. This is why the GUI that will be proposed and implemented will make the course more accessible even to students not very proficient in the area.

Economic analysis of the company ArcelorMittal Ostrava, a. s.

Diploma thesis deals with the Economic analysis of a company ArcelorMittal Ostrava, a. s. and evaluates its economic condition from 2010 until 2014. Thesis involves strategic analysis and financial analysis. Author describes the topic with a perspective of an external analyst and used companys annual report as his fundamental source. The strategic analysis is based on its micro and macro environment and SWOT analysis as well. The Financial analysis includes calculation of absolute, differential and ratio indicators. On top of that financial analysis contains the pyramid decomposition of the return on equity, economic value added, the bankruptcy and solvency models and comparison among other companies. Based on his research author concludes with recommendations which could lead to improvement of companys economic and market position. Most important findings are summarized and companys condition is evaluated at the end of this thesis.

Financial analysis Kofola, a. s.

This bachelor thesis is focusing on financial analysis about the Kofola, a. s. company. First, the work is concentrating on the methodology of the financial analysis, where the main principle of the financial analysis is explained. In another part of this thesis there are defined individual indicators, all the general formulas and explanation of the final value. The thesis also tries to identify the specific part of the financial economy about the companies of non-alcoholic beverage. Defined indicators were used in the practical part of work, where they were used for the financial analysis of the company Kofola a. s. For better orientation in this particular script there were used commented tables and graphs. In the following part of the thesis there were compared analyzed company Kofola, a. s. with the biggest competitors in the market, which are Coca-Cola and Pepsi. The end of the thesis is devoted to shortly valuation of the potential development of the future plans of these compared companies.

The main features of development the Czechoslovak military health service after the second world war, the beginning and constitution of the field of military radiotherapy and military toxicology

My Bachelor's work is engaged in complicated procedure of the beginning and constitution of branches of science - military radiobiology and military toxicology in conditions of former country Czechoslovakia. This process specification required to respect the range of complicated troubled levels where each of them could create a theme of individual task: - the second World War, its results and impact to military and political sphere; - formation of divided world, conditions and manifestation of "Cold War"; - new phenomenon-Weapons of Mass Destruction - research and development in this sphere in divided world; - development of home politics in Czechoslavakia and its incorporation to the commonwealth of USSR; - the Czechoslovak military and its health service development after the Second World War, the projection of political development turning points into this area; - the founding of Military medical academy in Hradec Králové as military-medical tutorial and scientific centre; - background of constitution mentioned branches and their prominent characters. My Bachelor's work in closes, sorts and searches the sequences of these problematic levels, it tries to highlight and mediate especially lesser-known pieces of knowledge from military health service and educational system history for public.
