This thesis deals with the design of a hydraulic press for metal forming. In the first part, common solutions of the main structural nodes of hydraulic presses were mentioned. In the second part, the main structural groups of the machine, such as the hydraulic cylinder, frame, and ram, were designed in detail. An unconventional type of frame was chosen for this machine, namely a folded frame. The latter was chosen due to the potential simplification of machine production. An innovative placement of the hydraulic cylinder was also designed for this type of frame. In the conclusion, several findings were mentioned regarding the aforementioned hydraulic cylinder placement and some observations were provided for a person who would design a similar machine.

The thesis is focused in the first part on the issue of bending and various types of press brakes In the second part, a mechanism was designed in detail to control the ram press brake during bending. The individual situations that may occur at work have been developed. Based on them and on the theoretical consideration of the deformation of individual parts of the invented solution, the individual components were dimensioned. A possible solution of the basic construction of the whole press brake according to the assignment parameters was also outlined. Finally, a recommendation for the production of this solution was mentioned.
