The fruits according to their spreading - an educative material for the primary schools
MIKLASOVÁ, Lucie
The aim of this diploma thesis was to summarize the issue of different types of seed / fruit propagation and to propose teaching material containing elements of inquiry based education. In the presented research proposal, pupils focused on finding out how to spread the seeds / fruits through their own process. The pupils worked with the worksheet, a description of the selected plants and the presented tools. The research task was carried out in four schools. The pre-test was conducted with seven grade students and final testing with seventh-grade students. Even though selected pupils met for the first time with this type of learning, they were able to build their own practice and discuss each other's findings.
The measurement respiration selected mutants at a fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster)
MIKLASOVÁ, Lucie
The Bachelor´s thesis is concentrated in an experimental way. The main target was to compare the respiration and to find out the differences in the quantity of the produced carbon dioxide at the chosen lines of a fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster (class insect, order dipterous). Two concrete checking lines CantonS (a wild type) and White eyed (a white-eyed line) were compared with a mutant line AdoR- (a fruit fly with the mutation in adenosine receptor). It was supposed the control lines will produce a lower quantity of carbon dioxide than the mutant line. The first part of the thesis is concentrated in the description of the adenosine recep-tor and the adenosine treatment on the metabolic process at mammals and at in-sect. Next important part of the thesis is the detail description of the measurement methodology of the respiration at a fly and the description of the fruit fly breed in the laboratory conditions. The results of the measurement and comparison of the particular checking lines with the mutant line showed that among these lines there was not any statistically proven difference in the production of carbon dioxide.
