The genre of fairy tales in Julius Zeyer's work

This diploma thesis deals with the specific process of adaptation of folklore topic in the work of Julius Zeyer. The thesis is divided into the explanatory part and the practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the history and development of the fairy tale genre, its main representatives, characteristic features, classification possibilities and also the history of folkloristics. There is also included is a chapter on the lumírovci movement and the life and work of Julius Zeyer. The practical part describes the plot of selected works, which are then analyzed on the basis of theories of C. G. Jung, Marie-Louis von Franz and V. J. Propp that are explained in the explanatory section. Finally, every work is categorized according to Toman, Šmahelová and Propp classifications.
Genre of fairy tales by Lumírovci

The bachelor thesis deals with the elaboration of fairy-tale genre in the production of lumírovci group. This work deals in more detail with the works of J. Zeyer, J. V. Sládek and J. Vrchlický, which fulfill the standards of the given genre. The theoretical part deals with explanations and definitions of the basic terms that are necessary for this bachelor thesis. This part also describes the history and development of the fairy tale, its possible division and traditional fairy-tale construction. Essential findings includes the practical part which deals with the analysis of selected works by the above-mentioned authors. Here the thesis follows up the use of fabulous means, such as symbols, characters, storyline and surroundings. The fairytale selection is justified and then follows on the summary of the practical analysis of the work.
