The subject of essay is eco-phenomena and its influence on landscape diversity. The essay contains definitions of particular eco-phenomena types and attributes elaboration focused on extraordinariness of this effect. Each eco-phenomena type is described, his uniqueness is illustrated on examples of local vegetation types and eco-phenomena description is completed by concrete locations with this sort of effect. Next part of the essay contains information about distribution particular eco- phenomena locations on the Czech Republic territory. There are information about description mentioned locations and sorting according to bio geographic classification of the Czech Republic. There is map included. Comparison and selection of landscape indices for assessing the rate of urban sprawl

A process of suburbanization is currently a very much discussed topic. This phenomenon of population and human activities transfer from core cities to their background can have harmful effects not only on local inhabitants, but also on surrounding landscape and its function. Landscape ecology responds to this development by quantifying and evaluating its impact on landscape functions. This diploma thesis summarizes published results about effects of suburbanization on natural environment. The main objective of the thesis is selection of an appropriate indicator(s) (landscapes metrics) to evaluate rate and intensity of this process. These metrics are applied in the study area and the results are discussed. Key words: suburbanization, urban sprawl, landscape metrics

The use of photographic collections of leaves in the teaching of plant morphology

This diploma thesis proposes a modern way of teaching leaf morphology in elementary school. It includes research that builds on the bachelor thesis ,,The leaf as an organ of higher plants - creation of photographic collection of leaves". The theoretical part contains an analysis of the objectives and trends of contemporary learning and teaching methods, and also summarizes the interconnection of teaching leaf morphology with the FEP. The practical part contains an interactive learning program with elements of inquiry-based education aimed at teaching leaf morphology. The research in this paper compares the quality of students' knowledge learned by the compiled program and the students learned the traditional way.

The leaf as an organ of higher plants - creation of photographic collection of leaves

The project is focused on morphology of leaf. The content is divided into three main parts. The first part analyzes textbooks utilized at elementary schools for teaching morphology of plants. In the second part is treated the photographic collection of leaves organized as a transparent system of individual characteristic of the leaf morphology. There are sugestions for practical use of the compiled material for teaching in the third part.
