Activating Practises in Nursing Homes for Elderly People

This Bachelor Thesis focuses on activating practices in nursing homes for elderly people. The aim of the Thesis is to map all aspects of providing this activation. Chapter 1 characterizes old age and the ageing process and describes the changes occurring in old age as well as the basic needs of the elderly. Chapter 2 deals with the importance of knowing the life history of each senior and motivations for meaningful activation. Chapter 3 describes the individual activating practices with a description of the benefits, or possible negative effects, on users of residential service Activations help and support the consolidation and development of physical and mental strength, as well as maintaining or improving self-sufficiency. The efforts to activate elderly people must fully respect the individual abilities and requirements of each person as not everyone is happy to participate in therapeutic practices. Activations have an irreplaceable role in comprehensive care for the elderly in residential facilities. Nursing homes offer a variety of activities and possibilities for spending leisure time. Care in nursing homes aims to make the last stage of life easier and more pleasant for their elderly residents and helps them to use all the abilities each has in order to gain a sense of self-worth, meaningful life and harmony.
