Title: Evolution of Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections Author: Andrii Lynnyk Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: RNDr. Marek Vandas, DrSc. e-mail address: vandas@ig.cas.cz Abstract: This thesis deals with deformation of the Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections (ICMEs) and their sub-class Magnetic Clouds (MCs) during their propagation in the Solar Wind (SW). The statistical study of the expanded MCs has shown that expansion greatly affects the MC internal magnetic field. We had shown that this influence is more clear for the MCs observed close to their axes. The study of the stand-off shock distance in front of the supersonic ICME confirms a smooth deformation of the ICMEs along their path from the Sun into interplanetary space. We observed that this deformation is increasing with the velocity of the ICME. This study also confirmed the difference in sheaths that are created in front of expanding and non-expanding ICMEs. We found that velocity distribution inside the MC is not uniform and it has large fluctuations. We found that the MC cross-section is usually strongly deformed. Studium magnetických oblaků: rozšiřování a nespojitosti
Lynnyk, A. ; Vandas, Marek
Magnetic clouds observed during the 1995-2003 years are fitted using force-free cylindrical flux rope models. The cloud parameters yielded by a static model are compared with those obtained from a modified model that includes magnetic cloud expansion.

The paper is a statictical study on comparisons between a model of an expanding magnetic cloud and observations.
Magnetická oblaka a jejich expanze
Lynnyk, A. ; Vandas, Marek
Magnetic clouds for the years 1995-1998 are analyzed using a model of a force-free cylindrical flux rope which may include cloud expansion. Clearly pronounced expansion was found in 80% cases. It was found that including the expansion makes comparison between model and experimental data better in 75% of these cases.
