Regional variants of German in the work of Christine Nöstlinger
Leová, Yen Nhi ; Zeman, Dalibor (advisor) ; Kafka, Clemens (referee)
This bachelor's thesis analyzes a linguistic phenomenon known as "austriacisms" and its use in Austrian German. The thesis is divided into two main parts: the theoretical and the analytical. The theoretical part analyzes different language varieties and their occurrence in the Austrian context. This includes terms such as "variety," "dialect," and "colloquial language," as well as specific characteristics of the German language in Austria, including austriacisms. This part serves as a basis for understanding the linguistic phenomena analyzed in the practical part. The analytical part then examines austriacisms in "Konrad oder das Kind aus der Konservenbüchse" by Christine Nöstlinger. This part identifies and analyses these linguistic phenomena and examines whether they are recognized and used by people in the age groups 10-13 years and 14-17 years. The results confirm the hypothesis that these expressions are generally recognized and commonly used in current communication.
