The Effect of Kendo on Trainee's Values

The diploma thesis is aimed at investigating the influence of the educational system of Kendo on the values and attitudes of practitioners, both in terms of perceived contrast between the values and attitudes anchored in Czech (Central European) cultural context and values and attitudes anchored in the cultural context of Japan. In terms of methodology, this will be an empirical research based on survey (5 standardized questions) and an interview.

Kendo as an educational system

This bachelor thesis introduces the Japanese martial art of Kendo as an educational system. The first chapter deals with different sources of Kendo thought and describes different periods of historical development and its present form. The second chapter describes Kendo as an educational system and it?s dimensions (ideological, content, methods, organizations). The bachelor thesis includes a picture appendix, which shows the gear and equipment that is used to practice the martial art of Kendo.
