The analysis of an impact of realised projects of the OP Prague - the competitiveness of program period 2007-2013

The purpose of this dissertation is to evaluate an impact of realized projects of Prague operating program The competitiveness on a development of the Prague region. Theoretical part is dedicated to formation and development of regional politics, consequent establishment of the EU and its dividing into the program periods including given aims. Subsequently, the dissertation examines the possibilities of using the funds of the EU, after, these possibilities are discussed, specifically for the CZ. Due to the fact, that it is the OP which is referred only to the capital city Prague, one chapter is given to this issue. The last section of the theoretical part is an implementation of the OP. The practical part is concerned about quantitative and financial analysis of the OP, which is divided into the program years. In the end of the practical part, an effect of the OP is totally evaluated, mainly its impact on the development of Prague through horizontal subjects and achieving of set indicators. Finally, the effect on the region of Prague is evaluated, in terms of applicants for funds.
The Strategic Development Plan Focusing on Strategic Objective of Civic Amenities for the Municipality Kamenice

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make a draft of strategic development document focusing on civic amenities for the municipality Kamenice. The document can serve as a basis for future development of Kamenice. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical principles of strategic planning. Outlined there are the current trends of regional development, the legislative definition of strategic documents in the Czech legal system, the processing conditions of the strategic document and its elements. General public survey methodology, which is currently part of most strategic development documents, is also described in this part. The second part is devoted to the draft of strategy document focusing on civic amenities for the municipality Kamenice. Firstly a socio-economic analysis of the municipality was performed. Based on the analysis SWOT analysis, vision, global goal and strategic objectives for the municipality Kamenice were made. The final part is devoted to a proposal of priority areas in civic amenities, which are big issue in the municipality Kamenice. Intense attention needs to be paid to them in Kamenice. It was necessary to omit part of the implementation in order to keep the scope of the thesis. The implementation is usually part of strategic development documents.
The Strategic Development Plan of City Krásno

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compile the Strategic Development Plan of development of the city Krásno, which is located in Region of Karlovy Vary, in the Czech Republic. The first part draws up a general theoretical frame, especially focused on specifics of strategic planning in small municipalities and also defines basic concepts. The second part is completely focused on the analysis of the city with the use of socioeconomic analysis, SWOT analysis, structured interviews and survey. The third part draws up the Strategic Development Plan including the vision and development priorities. Due to the required scope of the thesis, the financial and monitoring part of strategic plan were not included, otherwise they are an integral part of the programming.
The interrelationship and continuity of education and labor market in the Czech Republic, case studies Kolínsko.

The thesis is focused on the exploration of the relationship and connection between education and the labor market on the basis of analysis of expert reports and publications. The work justifies the importance of promoting education referencing the Strategy for Lifelong Learning as the basic document for education. The aim is to define and propose measures that would improve the current situation in education in the Czech Republic in comparison with OECD countries, greater student satisfaction with the quality of education and to better prepare students for their future careers. These are defined as for the whole country, and specifically for the Středočeský region, with emphasis on the district of Kolín. Findings from the analysis of strategic documents relating to education are used to design possible recommendations for preparing a strategy to educational policy of the Czech Republic in 2020. Its intention is to offer suggestions that might provide improvements shortcomings of current strategic and policy documents, and thus contribute to improving the overall quality of education . The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the basic concepts and issues in education , the description of the education system to analyze its present state and regional differences in educational structures counties. It is focused on the educational structure of the population of the Czech Republic and its regional disparity. While exploring the mutual relation of education and the labor market is assessed continuity of Regional Development Strategy 2014-2020 and the Strategy for Educational Policy of the Czech Republic in 2020. The practical part is devoted to the description and evaluation of the state of the educational system of the Středočeský region with a focus on district of Kolín. Recommendations for the Kolínsko based on the overall characteristics of the labor market situation in the region, the development of job seekers and analysis of groups of people at risk of unemployment in the district of Kolín. The work used materials of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports , Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs Regional Office of the Central Region, the Czech Statistical Office data and data of the regional branch of the Labour Office of the Czech Republic . In this thesis methods are applied research, comparison and analysis and synthesis of the findings.
The formation of local economic structures in the suburban areas of Prague and their development strategies

Presented dissertation is focused on commercial suburbanization in terms of the Prague agglomeration specific aspects and assessment of some of its impacts on the affected locations. The aim is to identify local economic structures from the perspective of commercial suburbanization and assess their level of socio-economic significance in the suburban zone of Prague and their influence on the design of local medium-term priorities. This objective is further specified in terms of the five partial aims and five hypotheses. Monitored spatial units are analyzed at the level of municipalities, administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers and districts of Prague-East and Prague-West. The work represents the first comprehensive attempt to assess the extent of commercial suburbanization in the suburban area of Prague by using index methods. With the use of indexes, impacts of commercial suburbanization have been evaluated, especially the level of local action of companies and the formation of local markets in those local areas. The analysis shows that there is a greater degree of formation of local labor markets compared to rather negligible degree of formation of local markets of goods and services. Local economic structures continue to shape significantly in the regional centers of lower category rather than in the suburban zone of Prague. Following part of the thesis analyzes the socio-economic situation in the selected suburbanized municipality and reflection of key aspects of suburbanization in its medium-term development priorities and brings also a generalization of the findings. For the performed analysis, data from the author's own surveys and available statistical databases were used.
The regional analysis of unemployment in the Czech republic from the perspecitve of cohesion policy of the European union

The aim of this diploma is the analysis of regional unemployment in the Czech Republic and examination which has cohesion policy of the European union to the unemploement rate at the level of individual regions in the Czech republic. The theoretical part includes basic description of cohesion policy in three programming periods and conceptions relevants to unemployement. Practical part is focused to analysis of regional unemployment and diferences between regions. The regions are examined from individual indicators of unemployment, individual economics indicators and indicators relevant to cohesion policy. The last part includes summary and interpretation of uenmployment indicators and cohesion policy indicators.
Smart Europe in Todays World

With the twenty-first century bringing a completely new economic environment, the traditional way of economic growth shifted from the industrial concept towards knowledge-based economy. Skills, creativity, and knowledge as well as innovation capacity have become the significant aspects of economic activity. However, such transformation has created various problems and risks, putting regions into a position to review the management of their overall development. Against this background, the "smart model" increased in popularity in the policy area. This thesis outlines a summary of the smart concept and evaluates selected European NUTS2 regions based on the smart city approach. It discusses a focused overview of diverse definitions of the term smart city and its conceptual relatives in order to find out factors determining the performance of a successful smart area. The analysis exploits the most recent version of Eurostat and ESPON regional datasets to evaluate the smartness of selected 177 NUTS 2. Subsequently, the thesis offers a strategic division of selected NUTS 2 regions into three main categories; very smart, smart and less smart. The paper finds that the high concentration of R&D, high level of well-educated individuals, good focus on green regional economy and good global accessibility are among the main characteristics of the selected groups. The results show that out of 177 studied regions, 52 are categorized as very smart, 66 as smart regions and 59 as less smart regions. Additionally, the paper searches for the key factors determining the regional smartness. The findings explore that high level of innovation, good Internet accessibility, and high concentration of educated population together with good overall economic performance are among the most influential factors determining the regional smartness. Together the whole analysis creates a new view on the measurement of smartness in regional context.
Development Program of Trebic

In this thesis is designed Development Programme of Trebic. The work analyzes the state and development of the city, on the basis of SWOT analysis were identified weaknesses particularly in the area of high unemployment, business support, low promotion of the city and energy city policy. Especially for those areas suggestions of improvements/development, for example through mobile applications for the greater appeal of the city or using the energy manager to monitor the energy performance of buildings.
Impact of Active employment policy in Středočeský Region

This thesis deals with unemployment in the Středočeský Region and then it deals with the local labor market. It focuses on active employment policy and its impact on human resources in the region. The aim of this thesis is evaluate the success of programs aimed at the active employment policy and assess its impact not only in the whole region but also on micro-regions and districts. In conclusion it is formulated recommendations for the future. In the theoretical part of the thesis is define the term unemployment and described ways of its measurement and analysis. It describes the historical development of unemployment at the national level since 1993 and also briefly describes the state employment policy. In the practical part of the work is focused on the Středočeský region, socio-economic ana-lysis and its position in the Czech Republic. It defines the specifics of the region, peculiari-ties of the regional labor market factors and the specific structure of human resources. At the end of the work are analyzed various programs to promote active employment and draw their impact on the labor market and the situation in the region, together with recom-mendations.
Education and Educational System in Plzeň Region and its Connection with Labour Market

The aim of the thesis called Education and the Educational System in the Plzeň Region and its Connection with Labour Market is to answer the question whether the number of the graduates from the Plzeň region schools corresponds to the needs of the labour market. The first chapter clarifies basic notions in the area of education and labour market. The following part describes the educational system and the labour market in the Czech Republic. This part also includes the legislative framework and basic strategic and conceptual documents of the Czech educational system. The third chapter deals with characterizing of all the levels of the educational system in the Plzeň region, it further focuses on the labour market in the region which is dealt with in the last part of the thesis. The last part includes an analysis of the available job positions registered by the regional offices and also describes the situation of the graduates of different types of school in the labour market. The results of the thesis show that the number of the graduates of the higher professional schools and universities in the region corresponds to the needs of the labour market. However, the situation is more complicated on the level of the secondary education -- there are not enough graduates in some study fields, especially educated in technical fields; conversely, redundancy is the case in other study fields -- for example graduates of gastronomy vocational schools and graduates of economical schools. There is an apparent effort of the Plzeň region to solve the current situation so that the educational system would agree with the requirements of the labour market.
