Rhetoric Education

Diploma thesis "Rhetoric Education" compares the concept of education in ancient Greece and Rome with the current approach to the developing of communication skills in the curriculum of primary schools and secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The work is based on theoretical analysis of the background and objectives formulated in the ancient classical works on rhetoric and in recent strategic documents shaping the curriculum. Processed theme focuses on the debate on the role, conditions and possibilities of growing literacy in communicational behavior. Split attention is paid to the expected effects of the competency model which is being implied in schools.
