Testing methodology according to international practices and standards
Králová, Iveta ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Doležel, Michal (referee)
There are many methodologies in the field of software engineering that focus on the entire software development process. The software development process aims to provide a quality product that meets user requirements, and to deliver it on time as well as within budget. Testing is a tool for verifying the quality of software and serves as feedback in software development. Most software development methodologies are available only in English, they emphasize the actual software development and address testing only marginally. An accurately designed testing process however, may contribute to higher software quality and avoid potential problems resulting from the entire information system's failure. Current Czech methodology that focuses exclusively on testing has been developed either inside individual companies and thus is not accessible to the public, or is contained in graduate theses, where it was typically created by adapting and expanding the existing software development methodologies for testing within a particular company or team. The main objective of this thesis is to establish a methodology for testing in Czech, which is based on international practices and standards, which is not tailored to a specific organization and which can be used as guidance in defining test processes in various organizations, regardless of their specific focus. The proposed methodology is also implemented in the tool EPF Composer that enables administration of methodology and its publication in the form of the website. The thesis also pursues additional objectives. In order to verify the objective of developing a standardized testing methodology is met, the thesis strives to produce a subsequent evaluation methodology using a standardized process framework in order to improve the testing process as well as a summary detailing which areas may be the subject of further expansion methodology. The theoretical part of the thesis aims to evaluate software development methodologies in terms of testing, to provide an overview of standards related to testing and to describe selected standards, to clarify the purpose of certification in testing and to analyze the possibilities of utilizing materials to prepare for the ISTQB certification. The objectives were achieved by analyzing the available materials for ISTQB certification, analyzing software development methodologies, standards, the TMMi procedural framework and other resources that deal with testing as well as its methodologies and standards. The main contribution of this work is a testing methodology, which is based on the testing process as defined by the international organization ISTQB. It provides a methodological framework by interconnecting and expanding individual methodological elements. Elements of the methodology include working products, as specified by the methodology with respect to the IEEE 829 standard. The methodology does not depend on the needs of a particular company and may be easily adopted, managed and customized. It may be used as a starting point in creating a testing strategy in Czech companies focused on software development which are interested in approaching testing in compliance with international practices.
Specifics of social work with the elderly at risk syndrome Elder Abuse and Neglect
KRÁLOVÁ, Iveta
This diploma thesis deals with problems of the Elder Abuse and Neglect Syndrome, that is abuse, mistreatment and neglect of senior citizens. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is further divided into nine chapters. Ageing, senescence as well as biological, mental and social changes are described in the first chapter. The next chapter is devoted to the phenomenon of ageism, its sources and manifestations of discrimination by caretakers. Domestic violence and its specifics are defined in the third chapter, where the myths of domestic violence are included as well. The fourth chapter deals extensively with the EAN syndrome. All possible sorts/types of the violence (i.e. physical, psychical, economical, sexual etc.) are described in this chapter. The following chapter is devoted to the root causes, risk factors, diagnosis and possible consequences of abuse and neglect of senior citizens. General profile of the victim/abuser, preventive measures and possible solutions of this phenomenon are described in this chapter too. General information about where to get help if needed can be found in chapter six. The last three chapters of this diploma thesis dwell on the social work with senior citizens, crisis intervention in person and crisis intervention by phone. The second part of this diploma thesis is of practical nature. The purpose of it was to find out whether selected social workers (caring professional staff) are well informed of and familiar with the EAN syndrome, whether they have direct experience with any abused elderly person, and what tools are being used when dealing with the studied phenomenon. I used the qualitative research design for the data gathering, the method of questioning and the technique of semi-controlled interview. The qualitative research was executed in the period of November 2012 to February 2013 in the form of semi-structured interview in Třebíč and in České Budějovice. The selected workers - social workers, caretakers and nurses - participated in the research conduct. The workers of selected facilities were chosen according to whether they fitted in with the elaborated framework of quota sampling. The final group was made up of 10 respondents (10 women). The respondents were between the ages of 35 to 55 years. The semi-controlled interview with selected social workers was made on the basis of predetermined questions in a fixed order. Outcomes of the interviews were processed in the form of interview analysis. After the processing of the results I found out, that all workers in selected facilities in Třebíč and in České Budějovice are not sufficiently aware of the problems of the EAN Syndrome. Furthermore, the research revealed that 8 out of 10 respondents had direct experience with mistreated, abused and neglected elderly person. Economic abuse was the most common one along with self-neglect and rude behavior from the caring staff. The last, third aim of the practical part of my diploma thesis was to find out what tools of social work are being used by workers when dealing with elderly persons suffering the EAN Syndrome. Interview was the most commonly used tool of social workers in selected facilities. The next tools are reporting the situation to the superior staff, getting in touch with experts in the field (i.e. psychologist, psychiatrist), social unions and the police. After the processing of the results I reached the conclusion. Despite the fact that selected workers face various kinds of abuse, mistreatment and neglect of elderly persons, they are insufficiently informed about the EAN Syndrome.
Perfect Example of the Analysis and Design in the CASE Tool Astah*
Králová, Iveta ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Mészáros, Jan (referee)
The thesis is focused on creating UML 2.0 diagrams in CASE tool Astah* and it's conceived as a handbook for students of software engineering course. The main aim of this thesis is to show a practical example of the use of selected UML diagrams in the analysis and design of information systems. Next aim that leads directly to achieving the main one is to explain the logical structure of the UML diagrams and describe the particular steps of their creation in CASE tool Astah *. The aim of the thesis is also to briefly characterize a CASE tool Astah * and describe the basic functions used to work in this tool. The aims of this thesis were reached mainly by studying available theoretical findings, using the reference manual from the help and tutorial from Astah* web sites and last but not least, by information processing from the Internet. The contribution of this thesis is especially a creation of simple and understandable UML models which document the particular application. Another contribution of the thesis are guidelines for work in the Astah *, edition professional, which describes only the functionality that user will actually use in contrast to the extensive manual. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part explains the term of CASE tool initially. This part follows on a basic characteristic of the CASE tool Astah * and a description of the basic work in Astah * professional. The second part is focused on the creation of UML diagrams in Astah * professional. At first, there is defined a practical example, which is then modeled using particular UML diagrams in order of use case diagram, class diagram, activity diagram and sequence diagram.
Sleep problems and insomnia of clients in the Nursing home in Trebic called Manž.Curieových, p.o.
KRÁLOVÁ, Iveta
The theoretical part describes sleep as a physiological process and its individual stages, the most frequent sleep disorders and sleeplessness. In addition, this part accentuates the diagnostics and examination of sleep disorders, pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment and the Ten Rules of Sleep Hygiene. Two objectives were set in the practical part. The first objective was to ascertain how the clients of the retirement home run by the subsidised organisation Domov pro seniory Třebíč - Manž. Curieových, p.o. were informed about sleep disorders, in particular about their causes and treatment and the sleep hygiene. The second objective was to ascertain what the sleep environment of the clients looked like. The objectives were attained through qualitative research. The selected questioning method involved the technique of a semi-directed interview with ten clients and ten nurses. The research was conducted from 3 January to 14 January 2011. After the processing and evaluation of case studies it has been ascertained that nine of ten clients are not informed about sleep disorders. Five of ten clients are not informed about the causes of sleep disorders. Seven of ten clients are not informed about the treatment of sleep disorders and ten clients do not know the Ten Rules of Sleep Hygiene. The research has shown that ten clients are satisfied with the sleep environment and the temperature in the sleeping room. Nine of ten clients are satisfied with their bed and sufficient darkness for sleep. Based on the semi-directed interviews it has been ascertained that six of ten nurses are informed about sleep disorders. Ten nurses know the causes and treatment of sleep disorders. Nine of ten nurses know the Ten Rules of Sleep Hygiene. Ten nurses think that the clients have sufficient darkness for sleep and are satisfied with their bed. This bachelor thesis will serve as a feedback for the retirement home, allow extension of both the lay and expert public awareness of the given issue and may be useful for the students of assisting professions.
