Porovnání obtížnosti porodů u různých plemen skotu ve vybraném chovu
Kozlová, Eliška
This bachelor thesis examines the issue of difficult calving depending on breed affiliation and utility type. This work summarizes three basic breeds of different utility types that are bred in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the work deals with the description of estrous cycle, methods of insemination, the period of gestation and the subsequent parturition. During parturition, emphasis is mainly placed on its progress. Therefore, the work also deals with internal and external factors. These factors aren’t always controllable, but some of them can be influenced by keeper or directly by breeding. Early detection of dead fetus is also important for calving. Whether the calving is assisted and whether any assistance is performed in an appropriate way has a relatively large influence on the course of calving itself. Depending on the extend to which assistance was required, the overall course of the birth is also evaluated. In this work was evaluated the calving process in Czech Fleckvieh and Charolais breeding. Both breeds were kept in the company ZEAS Lysice a.s., which is located in the South Moravian region. The results of the calving process were compared according to breed, year of calving and whether they were first-calf or older cows. The analysis of the data showed a significantly high incidence of the desired calving process in the Charolais breed, up to 99,28 %. Czech Fleckvieh showed a higher incidence of unwanted calving, which was 1,72 %. It also has been proven that older cows calving process was better than heifers. In the analysis of the year of calving, its influence on the course of calving wasn’t proven.
Využití termografie v chovu koní
KOZLOVÁ, Eliška
The use of infrared thermography in horses is on the rise, mainly because of its noncontact and high sensitivity to temperature changes. Due to these characteristics, it is used in a number of sectors, such as equestrian sports, physiotherapy, reproduction and equine veterinary medicine itself. The aim of this thesis was to provide an overview of the current scientific and practical knowledge concerning the use of thermography in equine breeding. In the next part, the aim was the actual observation in the operating conditions of the stable and the subsequent verification of the methodology of the use of thermography in horse breeding. The complexity of the implementation, the quality of the outputs and the possibility of use in breeding practice were evaluated. Thermographic measurements were carried out on a family farm using a Flir E5- XT thermal imager. Thermograms of the distal parts of the limbs were taken in 8 horses, the individuals ranged in age from 4 to 29 years. The thermographic images were evaluated qualitatively. The temperature difference between symmetrical limb regions was compared and the results were related to the horses' health records. If there was a difference in temperature between collateral limbs greater than 2 °C, this difference was considered a signal of a health problem. The thermal imaging confirmed the hind limb advance in the gelding Santys, here the temperature difference between the hind limbs was 4 °C. Furthermore, thermography showed high tendon temperatures (42.3 °C) in the mare Sunnamy, who was diagnosed with chronic tendon disease of the forelegs. In Libia, the areas of elevated temperature suggested the effects of treatment with leeches. However, in the Hipster gelding, the 2.9 °C difference in foreleg tendon temperature was probably due to incorrect thermographic measurement methodology. Specifically, it involved brushing the forelegs just prior to the examination. The average temperature of the hoof crown was found to be 31 +- 1,6 °C in the animals examined. The use of thermography is very useful in horse breeding, but it is important to take into account environmental factors, information about the health of the horse and the technical parameters of the thermal imager. Equally important is the training of the person taking the measurements and the subsequent evaluation of the thermograms.
Importance of Physiotherapy in Gerontopsychiatry
Kozlová, Eliška ; Babková, Alžběta (advisor) ; Koryntová, Hana (referee)
The subject of this work is application of physiotherapy at gerothopsychiatric patients, the image of care of geronthopsychiatric patient on inpatient department and at after-care facilities (facilities, that are providing respite care and day care). In form of casuistry it is describing process and results of individual physiotherapy of polymorbidic patient with organic anxious disorder and schizoaffective disorder of depressive type, of which during exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease had occurred deterioration of motivity, for which she has to be hospitalized on internal ward. The work briefly characterizes fields of gerontology, geriatrics and gerothopsychiatry that deal with problems of seniors. It refers to theory of aging and physiological changes in the old age. It is concerning the most common geriatric problems like instability, imobility, problems with urinary incontinence, intelect disorders and iatrogenic harm of the patient. It indicates the most common mental disorders in the old age, which are cognitive disorders including dementia, delirium and depression also. Furthermore the work is devoted to effects of locomotion on organism and to possibilities of physiotherapy at gerothopsychiatric patients, to possibilities of individual locomotion therapy and group therapeutic...
