Kostelanská, Ivana ; Matějka, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Dubský, Zbyněk (referee)
With the current developments in Ukraine and the escalating crisis, Visegrád Group is facing a serious foreign policy and security challenges. Are Bratislava, Warsaw, Prague and Budapest able to find common ground in relation to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine? The V4 countries come together to "save" Ukraine, but ultimately each country faces its own challenges and pursue its own interests. The first chapter of thesis is dedicated to the theoretical definition of regional cooperation. The second chapter will specifically address the creation and development of sub-regional grouping of Visegrád states. In the third and fourth chapter we will focus on current challenges, which determine the shape of Visegrád cooperation. In foreign policy, it will be the ability of the V4 countries to respond jointly to the Ukrainian crisis, which is set in the immediate vicinity of the borders of Visegrád countries. In the security and defence area we will focus on the V4 flagship project - European Union battle group consisting of the Visegrád group countries, which should be on the alert in the first half of 2016.
