The occurence of cemented honey in bee colonies around Český Krumlov, guality and way of processing of cemented honey
KOPŘIVOVÁ, Eva
The thesis deals with an incidence of so-called cement (melecitose) honey, which can cause serious problems to a beekeeper in the form of losses of bee colonies, honey as well as beewax works. It is a honeydew honey with a higher content of the trisaccharide of melezitose, which causes a quick crystallization in comb cells. A high concentration of this trisaccharide which consists of two molecules of glucose and one molecule of fructose is caused by some representatives of hemipteran insect. Reverse invertases present in hemipteran bodies cause synthesis of oligosaccharides, including the trisaccharide melezitose, from monosaccharides. Content of this trisaccharide is determining for the formation of the cement honey. Above 10 % it can cause quick crystallization of honey. Incidence of the melezitosis is increased by many factors of which the most important is weather suitable for reproduction of honeydew producers followed by a dry period during which water content in the honeydew decreases and the content of saccharides increases. Other important factors are health of the bee colony and species composition of the honeydew sources. Aim of the thesis was to analyse incidence of melecitose honey in the region of Český Krumlov over the period of several years depending of the length of active period of the individual bee keepers. Influence of altitude, year, weather, number of bee colonies, and species composition of honey flow sources was also evaluated. The thesis also presents methods of cement honey processing as used by beekeepers who have recently experienced this problem. The most frequently used method is dipping combs in water with subsequent reworking of the solution by honeybees. Zootechnical methods of beekeeping reflecting the problems of the incidence of cement honey are outlined in the theoretic part of the thesis.
"Contribution of tourism to the regional development - a case study of the Labe bike path"
Kopřivová, Eva ; Majerová, Věra (advisor) ; Petra, Petra (referee)
In order to fulfill goals of the thesis, representatives of the studied subjects were informally interviewed and provisions were suggested for more efficient use of the bike path potential. The thesis investigates benefits of the new bike path Hradec Králové,Josefov, Kuks for the area of travel business in a relationship to surrounding subjects. In order to fulfill goals of the empirical part of the work, in theoretical part it was necessary to study relevant regulations and professional literature that comes out of theoretical fundamentals of knowledge, context and mutual relationships in the area of travel business. Further the author has studied relevant regulations and professional literature in the area of regional politics and bike transportation. The transition between theoretical and empirical part constitutes of secondary analysis of the data on subjects surrounding the bike path. Through the secondary data the author could categorize studied subjects to the groups of municipalities, enterprise subjects and attractions.
The way of treatment of cemented honey
KOPŘIVOVÁ, Eva
Beekeeper's work is closely linked to the surrounding natural environment and its results are, besides the health of the bee colonies, directly dependent especially on the current sources of nectar and weather development. Incidence of so-called cement honey represents one of the situations which, when it is not solved by the beekeeper, can become a disaster ending up with a loss of the most of bee colonies, work and honey. Homopteran insect secrets a sweet sticky liquid called honeydew which is collected by honeybees for making a honeydew honey. The core of the problem could be an excessive content of a readily crystallizing trisacharide of the melezitose which causes a rapid hardening of the honey, which cannot be extracted from the honeycombs and bees are unable to overwinter upon it. They would die of hunger or dysentery. This Bachelor's thesis is focused mainly on methods which can help to solve the problem with the incidence of the trisacharide of melezitose in the honeydew honey. The area of monitoring was close to Český Krumlov, where the problematic honey appeared in 2011. A solution is a method of dipping the combs in water with the subsequent reworking of the honey by the honeybees. This method is described in detail in the thesis. Zootechnical methods of beekeeping are explained in a variety of specialized literature, but for easy understanding they are outlined also in this thesis as a follow-up to the methods described.
