Unusual cockroaches (Blattidae) from Cenomanian Myanmar amber
Šmídová, Lucia ; Vršanský, Peter (advisor) ; Kočárek, Petr (referee)
The diploma thesis presents an overview of the extinct representatives of Blattidae, the still living cockroach family. Six already described species, belonging to three genera, have been confirmed. All of them lived during Cenozoic. Eight new morphotypes from Myanmar amber were recognized. Cenomanian Burmite with its exceptional state of preservation, allows a detailed study of the morphology of the inclusions. Six morphototypes belong to the family Blattidae. One morphotype belongs to the derived family Olidae studied herein. One female morphotype belongs to the still living family Ectobiidae, based on the presence of an attached ootheca. The work specifies the previous molecular analysis (J2-K1) and determines the divergence of Blattidae during Early Cretaceous. Any evidence and interpolations before 127Ma is not substantiated. Phylogenetic analysis confirmed Blattidae being parafyletic in respect to the family Olidae. The work emphasizes the need for changes in systematics of the Mesoblattinidae, the stem of the Blattidae. Amber is confirmed as the product of coniferous trees of the Araucariaceae family. Key words: Blattidae, taxonomy, phylogeny, Cenomanian, Myanmar amber

Phylogeography of the praying mantis (Mantis religiosa) in central Europe
Urbánková, Hana ; Janšta, Petr (advisor) ; Kočárek, Petr (referee)
The praying mantis (Mantis religiosa) is the only representative of the order Mantodea in central Europe. Within Czech Republic, this species is distributed mostly on xerothermic localities in southern Moravia. However, M. religiosa has been spreading more to the north not only in Czech Republic, but also in other Europian countries recently. The aim of this study was to reconstruct phylogeography based on genetic markers. It seems that studied species was distributed at least in three lineages in Europe, which could be connected with glacial refugias. First lineage was spread to the north probably from Pyrenean peninsula, second lineage from Crimea peninsula and third lineage from Balkan area. Nine microsatellite loci were tested and will be used for consequent sctudy of phylogeography and distribution of M. religiosa within Europe. Keywords: Mantis religiosa, mtDNA, microsatellite, expansion, phylogeography, phylogeny.
Evaluation of Implemention of Programme Real Estates from Operational Programme Industry and Enterprise
Jirkovcová, Zuzana ; Jetmar, Marek (advisor) ; Kočárek, Petr (referee)
Subject of my diploma thesis is evaluation of implementation of aid programme Real Estates. The aid programme implements priority axis Development of Business Infrastructure of Operational Programme Industry and Enterprise in the period 2004--2006. Aim of this paper is to evaluate the use of subsidies and the achievement of goals of the programme Real Estates. The theoretical part deals with regional policy instruments and its basis in theories of regional development and economic theories. Afterwards the programme Real Estates is explicated as well as it's rules and requirements. The programme is put in context with theoretical principles of regional policy instruments, which are applied in the programme. Within the analysis of the programme, there are subsidised projects clearly specified as to what projects and which applicants were subsidised and how much the aid was. The core analysis surveys economic, social and environmental impacts of the projects generally and in part regionally.
