Kim, Valeriya ; Tumis, Stanislav (advisor) ; Agapova, Anna (referee)
This thesis discusses the development of the feminist movement in Russia. First, it deals with the definition of the basic concepts of feminist theory and their development in the West. Then, it describes the history of the women's movement in Russia from the mid nineteenth century to the present. The main part of the work consists of the comparative analysis of three programmatic texts authored by initiatives that advocate feminist values and are active in the Russian Federation today. The aim of the thesis is to map the ideological foundations of the activities of these organizations relying on the basis of the arguments they use, and thus to approach the theoretical foundations of women's activism.
