Kapitančik, Kristián ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (advisor) ; Housková, Anna (referee)
(in English) The bachelor's thesis deals with the work of the Spanish writer Pío Baroja. His novel "El árbol de la ciencia" has not yet been translated into Czech or Slovak. The aim of this thesis is to point out the influence of Schopenhauer's and Kant's philosophy on the author's work, the extent to which he was influenced by them while modeling the characters, and which aspects of the philosophy he transformed into his work. In the thesis, the philosophical directions of pessimism, asceticism and antinatalism are pointed out as significant elements throughout this literary work.
