The analysis of volunteer programs and volunters in the volunteer center Hestia o.s.

This paper focuses on volunteering in the Czech Republic and worldwide. It consists of two distinct parts. The first part is devoted to common principles of volunteering and its historical background in the Czech Republic, the United States and the Europe. The next theoretical part is devoted to volunteer center Hestia in the Czech Republic, national volunteer associations and social volunteer work in the Czech Republic. Emphasis is also given to l egislation connected with volunteering. The aim of the second part is to collect information relating to statistics of volunteers in the Czech Republic. Another purpose of the research is to provide analysis of volunteers' parameters, for examples quantity, age, gender, staff turnover.
