Vymezení vztahu matematické a finanční gramotnosti žáka střední školy
KAZDA, Martin
The main aim of the dissertation is to define if there is a correlation between financial and mathematical literacy of high school pupils using a suitably designed methodology. Its aim is to determine whether and to what extent the pupils´ acquired mathematical knowledge and skills translate into the development of their financial literacy. The issue of financial educationis currently being studied. To live in a modern society, it is necessary for an individual to be financially literate, ie able to fully adapt to the changing conditions on the financial markets. The process of education begins in early childhood. The thesis focuses on secondary school pupils, who already become legally adults during their studies, ie they can conclude binding contracts. The thesis is divided into two basic parts, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part offers the reader a comprehensive search of available professional literature related to the issue. The theoretical part defines both literacies, ie financial and mathematical, and discusses their relationship. The reader is also acquainted with the issue of financial education in the Czech Republic and abroad. The empirical part describes the methodology of the implemented combined research, which links the methods of quantitative (ie questionnaire, didactic test) with the methods of qualitative (ie interview) survey with the help of the data triangulation method in order to increase its validity. The respondents were pupils of grammar schools and secondary technical schools with extended instruction in economic subjects across the Czech Republic. A sufficient sample was obtained to achieve a total 95% reliability level. Research has confirmed that there is a significant correlation between financial and mathematical literacy. It showed that a pupil's mathematical knowledge and skills are one of the effective tools for developing their financial literacy. It also showed that financial education can also be beneficial for teaching mathematics itself.
Derivation of Kepler's three laws from Newton's universal law of gravitation and second law of motion
Kazda, Martin ; Mošna, František (advisor) ; Kvasz, Ladislav (referee)
The theme of the work is to derive three Kepler's laws by using gravitational law and the law of force by Isac Newton. The introduction deals with the history of Kepler's laws with the laws of Newton being pointed out. The following chapter includes mathematical know-how which plays important role in the process of derivation. The central part of the work is the very derivation of Kepler's laws by using and applying Newton's laws, during which the mathematical apparatus was used. The conclusion consists of the evaluation of the whole work, in which one of the possible derivations has been documented and presented. This work could be applied at the university level, as well as the high school level but in its simpli fied version.
Financial education at the secondary school
Kazda, Martin ; Petrášková, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Novotná, Jarmila (referee)
The main goal of this diploma work is to create a concept of one-year two-hour seminars teaching financial literacy at high school. Its content is in accordance with the standards of financial literacy that were defined in the document " The system of establishment of financial literacy at primary and secondary schools ", and which have been implemented in the RVP of high school and secondary vocational education in 2009. In particular, constructivist approach is being applied in the teaching to whose implementation using appropriately chosen teaching methods that are designated in the methodological recommendations of Pedagogical Research Institute. Following teaching materials are drawn up for each thematic unit seminar (household management, prices and money, financial markets, interest and interest calculation, financial products, financial planning and consumer protection): the recommended sequence of intermediate tutorial, theme, tutorial, tutorial presentations, pupil outputs, input and output test. The other goal of this diploma work is a small research through a questionnaire with closed issues, whose main aim was to map out the teaching of financial literacy at secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Keywords Financial literacy, Financial education, Activating teaching methods
