The theoretical part provides information on principles of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention, works preventative care and on preventative programmes of health insurance companies. Apart from this, I also deal with the role and options open to a general nurses in terms of provision of preventative care with a general practitioner. In the empirical part, I analyse questionnaires focused on a survey of the level of informedness and interest on the part of the public with regards to general preventative examinations. I also present the results of a study, in terms of which invitations to a general preventative examination were sent out to 100 patients, registered in the surgery of the general practitioner where I work. Development of the common European currency and its comparison with US dollar

The thesis is based on the historical background of realisation of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) in Europe which has led to the introduction of a single currency: the euro. Subsequent comparison of the euro-dollar deals with their particular roles in selected segments of the global economy and tries to put these facts into context. The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the current tendency and predict possible future development of the position of the world currency.
